This is way too vague. What's the context? If someone pushes me up against a wall and kisses me without my consent I'm gonna be pissed. If someone comes up to me and starts a conversation, they don't need my consent to try but they need my consent to continue- if I don't give it, please don't keep trying to corner me.

You're also missing the fact that "desirable" men are better at picking up on social cues and can tell when non verbal consent is present. That's one of the things that makes them desirable in the first place...

Women don’t like when this happens, and then justify it being wrong because they didn’t have consent. If a desireable man is just as bold however, it’s not only welcome, it’s wanted.

So... your objection to this definition/utilization is that women are able to prevent things they don’t want happening from happening. I dunno, man. Sounds like it’s working like it should?

Consent is about power, yeah, but not the way you're saying it is. It's about recognizing the bodily autonomy of others. It's about gaining the power to determine what is done to your body, and yes, punishing people who violate that. What's the alternative here? Deciding that women have to just grin and bear the advances of men who they don't want touching their bodies? When heterosexual men shun the advances of gay men touching them without consent, are they "pushing gay men out of the dating market" too?

It sucks, but sexuality is inherently exclusive. You can't make men and women desire things they don't. Being ugly is very tough, but the hardships you experience because of that do not justify you violating someone else's body. Someone not wanting you to touch them may hurt, but it is not abusive.

This sounds like a roundabout way of saying creepy guys can't get away with what hot guys do. Which is mostly false. Hot guys don't get a free pass to do whatever they want. The importance of context and understanding social cues are far more important.

Consent is an abused word, but not for the reasons you're stating.

Only the most far left radfem uses consent to mean, "don't approach me otherwise it's rape".

The reasons consent is a power play is that feminists are constantly pushing the definition of consent into more gray areas and trying to absolve women of ANY responsibility of communicating their consent or lack of. It ALWAYS falls on the man to gauge her level of consent. Either verbally or by reading her signals.

Affirmative Consent is just a weasel word shit storm of female hypoagency. We can't POSSIBLY expect women to actually act like adults and say no if they don't want to do something, can we?? I think this stems from confusion regarding the difference between verbal and non-verbal consent (yes, it exists).

The liberal crowd believes that everything must have express, verbal consent, as if it is the most absolute form of agreement. They don’t take into account that people can, and do, go back on their word out of spite or convenience. They also fail to account for the natural flow of events that the world takes place in. We do not need to go back in time where permission was asked when “courting m’lady.”
