He's a fucking terrible brother. My brother and I hate each other's lifestyles and argue about it frequently, but he wouldn't cut me off over something so petty, nor would I do the same to him.

Also, his sister not dating in high school wouldn't have helped him, he's just looking for an excuse to feel bitter because she's better looking than him.

Regardless, it is unreasonable to request that your sibling put their life on hold while you sort your own shit out. This is a weirdly specific situation about the family dynamics and cultural expectations of non western people. I feel bad that the boy was bullied in school and treated poorly by the father, however my guess is even if the girl had gone along with his weird request, he would have been bullied still. He likely needed a different type of help than sister non dating.

3 years is a big difference when you're 13 and 16. The 16 year old is supposed to be the adult, he wasn't, and that is weird. Also, their high school is way too small. How are his classmates aware that he has a younger sister and whether she's dating someone? I went to the same high school as my brothers and I never once spotted them in a corridor. It was big and divided by grades and grades were worlds apart.

The dude got some shit hands dealt to him. His dad seems majorly unsupportive when he really could have used him. Bullies can also fuck you up socially. But he obviously failed in overcoming these challenges. He has apparently misdirected anger towards his sister. He would do better if he tried to repair his support system with his family. He also has emotional issues he needs to work out.

But no, the girl is not at fault. His bullies are the one who bullied him, not his sister.

Yeah dude sounds like a total loser. She never should have, and never agreed to put off dating till have HS, it was a weird request on his part. Offering to help set her up afterwards was a completely empty/useless gesture, since he clearly doesn't understand what women find attractive. This is a no win situation.

The sister was a bit selfish, but given that she was younger than him, couldn't have been expected the results of her actions, especially as a successful girl, and understood what her brother's life was like.

I think cutting his money off, and refusing to take him in may be the best option. He will either shape up immediately, or sink further into his funk.

I think that the damage is done. The chief culprit is the father who has not really acted as one. Kids need small victories to build confidence. His father didn't even bother with that.
