I don't really see how feminists could be accepting of trans theory (as most third wave feminists are) without recognizing that there are non-physical differences between the sexes.

Because if you didn't believe that the sexes were defined by something other than biology, how could you believe that a male-bodied person can identify as female (or vice-versa)? It doesn't make any sense.

Feminism is the hydra of shittiness - for each head that's cut off it grows two new ones.

I mean, 3rd wave feminism has done away with quite a bunch of 2nd wave tenets, but managed to come up with even more new ones that were equally retarded and, quite frankly, even more ridiculous and petty. So even if feminism as a whole would finally decide that men and women aren't equal after all, you can bet that they somehow would twist this around to use it against men. And it's not as if card-carrying feminists weren't willing to admit that the genders are different as long as suits them.

They are only willing to change if inequality=female being superior to men. That's how it's always been.

For example, you don't hear feminists arguing against statements like "women have more emotional intelligence", why? Because they like that. They think it's a superior trait.

Feminism isn't changing, it's just succeeded at tearing down and antagonizing masculinity. Now, the changes they will admit to are the ones that show that femininity is superior.

It's all bullshit, of course. We all have traits that make us superior or inferior to others, whether it's gender, race or whatever. In a way, humanity is perfectly equal in that we are all equally different.

The same feminists that say that men are more agressive, I don't know why people think agressiveness it's a physical trait instead of a psychological one.

Feminism, frankly, has a love-hate relationship with the idea of biologically-based mental/psychological differences between the sexes. Trans people have brains of the sex they identify with, but this implies there is such a thing as a typically-female neuro-type and a typically-male neuro-type (or at least some portion of the brain which operates in this way). So a trans-inclusive feminism can't claim that all empirically-observed difference between the sexes comes down to social treatment/construction.

Another thing is the Cultural Feminism of Carol Gilligan. Gilligan has been extremely influential - she basically tried to justify 'sugar, spice and everything nice' as a feminist principle, and she more-or-less succeeded in terms of convincing others.

Another thing, frankly, is that I think a lot of feminists of the second-wave/women-should-man-up crowd realized that the traditional male sex role isn't a privilege party, and so they began to be selective and retain the 'positive' (i.e. easier) aspects of traditional femininity.

The feminist narrative is internally inconsistent. A lot of feminist activism is guided by the psychological needs of feminists rather than consistent feminist ideology, and there are lots of different kinds of feminism. The result is a "pop-feminism" that is basically a cocktail of whatever feminists like at any particular moment.

And it gives me no hope since it just means feminism becomes a more amorphous, moving target. Its easy to attack a definite thing, but when the target can basically change at its own convenience, well...

When you go to university and see the ratio of men:women in maths and IT courses, it's easy to question if there is some kind of difference going on in general. For whatever reason women seem much less likely to take interest in those areas. I don't know how much of it could be chalked up to society discouraging them or if our brains tend to work differently.

Most lefty feminists are unconcerned with trying to understand biological differences between the sexes. You misinterpret their arguments. They are not outraged, they do not try and use some determinist argument like evopsych bullshitters do to understand sex, they are trying to look beyond this biological notion of gender to understand it. They use completely different tools then say a TRPer would use to understand sex and gender. When you refer to outraged feminists you seem to be speaking of tumblr teenagers who haven't read any theory yet but are still trying to challenge and understand this notion of gender. Most of them end up getting after college.
