It is as true as saying that access to cheap, calorie-dense foods make people fat.

Has it made a lot of people fat? Sure. Did it make everyone fat? No.

A lot of people just lack the basic ability to delay gratification, whether that be food, laziness, sex, stealing, you name it. Most people are weak.

Look at a guy who has his shit together; who is disciplined with what is important to him. Maybe he's ripped, or he's hard working, or whatever. If that guy also thinks that cheating is morally wrong or risky, he's likely to not cheat.

A fat guy, he'd cheat first chance he gets.

I used to be a believer but now I think men do what they can whenever they can. Even when the woman they have is a good one.

I don't know if it's possible for men to really separate the "love" and the "fucking" and nobody can give me a good answer to that question.

To a certain extent this is true. It is a catch-22 for women. Women all want the same men, but that means the men they want are less likely to be faithful, cause they have too many other options. That said, men can be faithful if they want to be.

It really does depend on the man, his age, his options and the women he meets. A high smv young man is going to probably be surrounded by horny young women which means that in most cases he doesn't see the point in having a girlfriend.

Yes, he might even have a main chick, a girl who might be hot but he's very likely cheating on her.

Average looking men on the otehr hand have to be loyal to their options. So they'll get a girlfriend treat her like she's gold. But high smv men, loyal? LOL NOOO!

This is a pointless statement. Anyone can be faithful and anyone can cheat. It comes down to choice.

Part of being a man is self control. A real man does not cheat on his wife. A real man stays faithful. Bill Clinton is not a real man, he's a scumbag.

Women want to stay faithful as well because they want a secure relationship. Its their priority to find a suitable male for provision and protection.

This whole deal with hypergamy, dating up obsession is overblown. It doesnt happen as often as you think.

Remember it takes two to tango and cheaters are way more comfortable going out with other cheaters. Take a look on Ashley Madison if you dont believe me. Some people will outright state in their profile that they dont date "single" people. I know it sounds kind of ridiculous but it's true.

I think that it's mostly true. Even in gender equal societies, men are more likely to cheat than women, if only slightly, and that's with men doing through vast bulk of the approaching and most of those approaches ending in rejection. So if the average man had as many "options" as the average woman? I believe that the male infidelity rate would be much higher, at least for a while, and then maybe level off.

I think that quote is bullshit.

Sure there are some guys who are only as faithful as his options. I'd also recommend women to not date those guys because someday, an option will come by and he's going to take it.

But I also know many guys who care about their marriage vows and respect the relationship that he's in.

It's just misandry to say that every man is going to cheat when he has the option, just like it's misogynistic to say that all women will branch swing when she can.

A better version of that quote is really "a shitty partner is only as faithful as his/her options".

No, a man with options has more opportunities to cheat. Therefore, his faithfulness means more than that of an ex-ForeverAlone who may never have another relationship in his life if his wife leaves him.

A lot of married men will tell you straight up, the reason I don't cheat is not because I'm good or loyal, it's because I just don't want to go through the hoops and games of looking for sex like I'm 19 anymore. But if a woman threw it at them it's a completely different story.

Depends on the situation.. In my last relationship I had a few opportunities to cheat.. Even told me that they didn't care I had a gf.. But I didn't.

Now if I was in a sexless relationship at the time? Yes, definitely I would've.

It makes it 100% easier for men to cheat and stay faithful if they have women throwing themselves at them.

It's almost like entrapment. A man who would never put effort into cheating or go out of his way to cheat might end up cheating if women are throwing themselves at him.

I would disagree with the idea. It's true that there are people who don't cheat because their circumstances don't allow for it or make it worthwhile, but some people are just naturally monogamous. My partner is a musician, and many of the guys he plays with are super loyal to their girlfriends/wives. Like, on tour, attractive women literally offering themselves to them, and they won't even consider it because they're genuinely not interested. My partner, on the other hand, isn't inclined towards monogamy. And even though most of the time he couldn't be bothered to seek out other partners, he would have a hard time turning down an attractive woman throwing herself at him.

I put integrity in high value, so if I give my word that I'm in an exclusive relationship with someone, I will keep that word. I have been tempted many times in the past, but my arrogance ("I'm above breaking my own word") has protected me well enough.
