Women's sexuality is as uniform as snowflakes. There are some women who get turned on by taking advantage of a man, just as there are men that do so with a woman. Not all women need or want romance in sex. Some just want a quick thrill or to dominate a man.

I believe on average people who rape are more commonly men because....because....they are stronger than women and think they can get away with it and therefore are more likely to try to rape, and the opposite isn't as true.

The thing is psychotic or sociopathic behavior has no root in ones differences in their sex. If men were more likely to rape BECAUSE of something to do with their nature, wouldn't you be inclined to believe all men are potential rapists?

Female genitals mightn't be as conspicuous as male genitals but we tend to have a pretty good idea of where they are and how to use them. If you're definig rape solely as nonconsensual oral/anal/vaginal penetration then, yeah, I suspect having a dick plays a role. But, when I worked with juvenile sex offenders, I got a sense that men constituted the majority in most forms of sexual assault including digital penetration and receptive oral copulation. I mean, to be fair, this was a very biased sample; people seem less likely to report and prosecute sex crimes perpetrated by females (a larger proportion of which would presumably involve oral or digital sex) so women who rape will probably be underrepresented in the criminal justice system. I just see a lot of nonconsensual digital and receptive oral sex perpetrated by people with the biological equipment to engage in pennetrative rape.

Edit: Since posting this, I did a little online searching re: female on male sexual victimization. More and more, I get a sense it's an oft overlooked phenomenon, not just in popular media, but also in accademic publications. One potential confound is whether or not one categorizes forcing someone to penetrate someone else as rape. I mean, nonconsensually using someone's body for pennetrative sex is clearly rape but, unfortunately, if we're pulling our numbers from crime statistics, we'll either overlook or grossly underestimate the prevalence of this as a form of female-on-male sexual victimization.

Since we're so hot on evo psych, I will go on to say that some men have it in them to rape.

Think about it. TRP talks about War Brides but it goes both ways. For every woman who was raped there was a man who raped her.

Some men have rape instincts and I'm not saying this to blame them in any way. It's not their fault. It's only their fault if they act on those instincts.

It also explains why even some men who DON'T rape are into rape porn, or BDSM with rape roleplay.

The main reason there are more male than female rapists, besides physical strength, is because men are less likely to view aggressive women as "rapists". It's more fitting to think of them as "harlots" who rob us of our own self-control, rather than as "rapists" who overpower us.

It may also be that on average men are physically stronger than women.

It may be that statistically speaking men tend to commit more violent crimes. Keep in mind rape is about power/domination/aggression, not about getting sexual release.

It could be that our culture raises men to take our their frustrations in more physical ways. Or that we're raising young men to measure their worth by being able to get laid when they want to (at any cost).

Rape is all about the actual act of penetration. An aggressive woman is more likely to focus her efforts on turning her target on. Depending on the situation, she has more freedom to explore grey areas.

And more plausible deniability. Especially if she's careful about choosing her moments. If you win consent in the end, everything's right with the world, right?/s

Actually raping someone, in a non-statutory sense? The kind of woman who rapes is usually not so complicated. She's a thrill seeker with low impulse control, and breaking the taboo is a high. She may be turning someone else on, through the victim, or feeding a crowd. Or she can be a sociopath, the kind that hurts people over and over again, often in ways that don't leave visible scars.

I'm not trying to cover every reason, hopefully these few examples will do.

But.

The thing of it is, nobody knows how many rapes happen, in any form. And even if you find support, good luck proving a woman ever raped you, when you finally make the report.
