It depends on how hot you are as a man, but I'd say if you make the top 25% or so, it is absolutely beneficial to your social and professional life. People in general gravitate toward "naturals."

There has also been a lot of research on how taller men are respected, promoted and receive raises more.

As /u/GaiusScaevolus said, I think height is the physical trait comparable in social importance to a woman's facial looks. I don't know if I'd say they are perfect equivalents, but definitely comparable.

Height for men means status, masculinity, dominance, leadership etc.

Whether they actually translate into that is doubtful, but people still associate those things with male height in the same way people associate femininity with a pretty female face. I guess it's the halo effect.

Facially I'm pretty good looking. But I'm a dwarf so I'm fucked. Other men do not respect me or see me as an equal. Doesn't matter how handsome you are when people literally look down at you.

I mean, I do think there's something to do the fact that no man I know spends in excess of 15 minutes doing their make up or brushing their hair each morning.

I think women simply don't value grooming as much as men as far as physical appearance goes--but that doesn't mean they don't value it at all, which is why you should make an effort.

In terms of pure, aesthetic facial apoearance... no shit it makes a difference. Otherwise the current definitions of hot, handsome, even cute--as they are applied to men--would be meaningless or neutral.

A good looking woman will find it easier to attract attention than a really good looking man. But a really good looking man will have a massive advantage over an average man.

Lots of other things can arouse women other than classical good looks, but classical good looks are the best thing to have.

It definitely makes a huge difference in what people will allow you to do and their perception of you. Unfortunately there is really no way to make objective measurements and unless you make a drastic change from ugly to hot or vise versa, you will not notice a massive difference.

But yes, I definitely have noticed that I can get away with more in regards to girls. Whether I make a mistake and have a moment of weakness or escalating conversations much more quickly.
