Longtime lurker here, thought to post with an alternate.

Something that surprises me here during the debates and discussions between pills is the concept of denial, as in the psychological defense mechanism .

In my perspective, although the RP is extreme at times, they have an incredible awareness of their reality, and are prepared to deal with many different threats. Obviously, this may seem paranoid to many, but overall people who are better prepared in life for everything tend to live out the bad times much better. I was foolish enough to let my own husband steal a lot of money and possessions from me when we divorced, because I blindly trusted him and didn't secure my own savings. I loved him, but I just feel if I prepared my own things independently.

However, I see many BPers in an extreme state of denial, to the point where they think every person in the freaking world is sweet and good hearted. TBP seems to deny the possibility that women would lie about the amount of men they have been with, or that someone's sexual history could very well effect who they are as a person. It's a very dangerous mindset in this world. It's like going to a doctor without reading his reviews on Yelp to see if his patients like him.

So my point in all of this is, one should always take into account when debating about views of people around us that, one does not admit to things they believe are damaging to themselves, or rarely do. I have been in this position many times, and if a woman feels that telling others about her sexual past will make them view her in a light she does not want to be viewed in, she will not tell the truth. I honestly don't see why some of you don't even consider this.
