All my friends and I cook. I don't get it.

Most people can't cook, men and women. However, more and more men are getting into cooking, which is definitely a change from the past, where basically all male cooking was in the realm of professional chefs. I personally am a better cook than any girl I have ever met under the age of 50. I suppose this is the basic problem with anecdotes. However you must have noticed the generational difference.

[–]goatismycopilotPurple Pill Woman1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think there is a generational component. I grew up in one of those post divorce single family homes TRP hates. I was expected to share cooking and cleaning duties with my mom and have a part time job in high school. But I am older. I knew how to cook, clean, and manage money ( did it poorly plenty of times) before I moved out on my own.

Yeah, I can put stuff in the microwave and put the timer on. Cooking.

[–]goatismycopilotPurple Pill Woman5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, that isn't cooking, that is re-heating something. Cooking is planning a meal and or meals, doing the prep and then using the right techniques to get the desired results.

The modern woman can no longer cook

Dont care i can cook

they no longer want children

Perfect both for me and the planet

and they are no longer warm

Not in my experience

tidy

Maids

and loving creatures

Depends on the woman

they are too independent and strong

you must not know many "modern women". a decent amount them are whinners wrapped up in there own victim hood and determined to make men the villain of all their woes. not all women but enough to make me not want to date any one under 25 from a middle/upper middle class background.

to even have a family of their own

overrated

the only thing modern women have to off to day is sex

NO but if you really believe that go buy a flesh light

So instead of being loving house wives

You mean parasite?

who cooks

I can cook

and raise children

who needs em

they are reduced to sexual object only

YOu would have hated traditionalism and bitched about how you 'wife' just spent all your 'hard earned' money (and you still wouldn't get laid). now go fuck your flesh light

And they are messed up emotionally

only coddled upper middle class brats which i assure you there are plenty of male counter parts,

and intellectually

only if they bought in to post modernism, 3rd & 4th wave feminism, and view them selves as perpetual victims with no agency.

that they spend the money they make on their job on plastic surgery

sounds like rich people problems but who cares, a little plastic surgery is acceptable but if these women are as vacuous as you say they are then no amount plastic surgery will make them desirable in the long term... also freedom.

Cosmetics

its stupid but what are you going to do?

and tons of clothes

also stupid but what are you going to do, also the clothes thing has always been true

they think will make them look good

if their personality is so shitty don't worry about, they will learn when they cant keep a boy friend around because they act like unmitigated cunts. most women aren't like that though

well they have no other qualities attractive to men

your view of women is myopic, plenty of women out there but with that attitude they will run away as soon as they catch a whiff of it.

so what else can we expect?

A lot?

This is the fruit of feminism

Only 3rd & 4th wave whinny piss babies who have been coddled their whole lives. most women who grew up rough or weren't coddled despise these 'women'. and most older women shudder

the fruit of womens liberation

hasn't happen yet because white knights keep engaging in positive sexism and provide a safety net for women but especially these type of women and especially women who play the victim. i have noticed that most strong women dont have hoards of white knights ready to catch them.

/pol/ is always right about being wrong

The man who said it is irrelevant, we aren't arguing about how good of a person he is

[–]CookieMan0Interested Third Party4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

True. But why is he so into a supposedly traditional gender role for women? Are the duties he listed inherently better for or better performed by women? I personally see no problem with women departing the housewife roles, joining the workforce, and assuming more "traditionally masculine" roles. It sounds to me like he's saying women are becoming more like men, which I can't say is a bad thing.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

Are the duties he listed inherently better for or better performed by women?

Maybe, maybe not, but I doubt the dynamic of mom slaying the dragons and dad staying home with the kids doing domestic stuff isn't going to cause strife

Maybe. But who's to say who should be going out and slaying the dragon? Let whoever wants to and is capable of doing so handle the task.

What is the benefit of having more people in the workforce?

Basic capitalism. The cream rises to the top.

What, is it your job to tell other people how to live in an amoral topic such as this?

I'm fine with people making mistakes, just as long as they don't vote to use other people's resources to cover their mistakes.

[–]CookieMan0Interested Third Party0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

I'm fine with people making mistakes, just as long as they don't vote to use other people's resources to cover their mistakes.

I'm fine with sharing my resources to fix someone else's mistakes within reason. Dependency upon others to fix one's mistakes is simply unacceptable. Let me see if I can summarize your beliefs:

  • Mistakes are okay.

  • Dependency/expectation of others to fix one's mistakes is not okay.

  • Integrity/accountability are important, and it's better for someone to accept the consequences of their mistakes than to try to make someone else swallow the punishment.

Does that sound accurate to you?

[–]trpobservereats ass0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I'm fine with sharing my resources to fix someone else's mistakes within reason

Sharing is voluntary, taxes are not voluntary. Being physically forced to help someone is not the same as simply helping someone.

Dependency/expectation of others to fix one's mistakes is not okay

That really depends.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Maybe. But who's to say who should be going out and slaying the dragon? Let whoever wants to and is capable of doing so handle the task.

The person who works should be dependent on what is best for the relationship

Basic capitalism. The cream rises to the top.

Something something work to live something something

It's their choice.

Is it really though? Do they really have a choice?

[–]CookieMan0Interested Third Party1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The person who works should be dependent on what is best for the relationship

This does not necessarily contradict what I said.

Something something work to live something something

Elaborate.

Is it really though? Do they really have a choice?

Are you saying they don't have a choice? And in your own words, what choice is this?

[–]nomdplumeFormer Alpha1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This does not necessarily contradict what I said.

But, IME, it does conflict with the self-described "strong, independent woman." A "strong, independent woman" will never allow herself to depend on others (especially a man). She is generally out to prove that she is strong and independent and thus will avoid anything that might be construed as weakness or inferiority or dependency.

Honestly, anyone who describes themselves with that term, regardless of their gender, can really be a pain in the ass. As a man, though, trying to be in relationship with those kinds of women is just exhausting and aggravating.

[–]CookieMan0Interested Third Party1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She is generally out to prove that she is strong and independent and thus will avoid anything that might be construed as weakness or inferiority or dependency.

I've got to say... that sounds awfully familiar.

Honestly, anyone who describes themselves with that term, regardless of their gender, can really be a pain in the ass.

I can agree. Often, I find they like the idea of the label, without engaging in the practice.

As a man, though, trying to be in relationship with those kinds of women is just exhausting and aggravating.

My current relationship is pretty much a 1:1, equal relationship. Nobody really "wears the pants" because nobody's interested in... well, wearing pants, but also always being the one in charge. It's a lot of fun to spend time with someone you consider an equal.

Why should I hold my values in these people? They take drugs, which is self harming.

[–]CookieMan0Interested Third Party5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Are you equating drug use to arson/murder? The former tends to affect only oneself, the latter directly affects other people.

[–]RedIsSafe[S] -5 points-4 points-3 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

People who use drugs can murder people for more drugs.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

A lot of drug users are perfectly peaceful people, damn man.

Wait, are we talking about the same kind of drugs?

[–]CookieMan0Interested Third Party2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Can. Some also buy them legitimately with no intent for violence.

Are you also saying drug use has an impact on the value of a person?

[–]RedIsSafe[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes. No, not the value of a person but it does effect behavior and actions.

[–]CookieMan0Interested Third Party2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Using drugs and buying drugs with the intent to use are two different actions, though. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.

[–]nomdplumeFormer Alpha0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Spoken like someone who doesn't use drugs, lol.

And people in general can murder people for all kinds of reasons. Murdering for drugs just makes for a cleaner narrative.

He's wrong. Many women are very loving , can cook and want children. Also , many men don't want children themselves and don't really care whether a woman can cook or not .

Men generally only care about appearances , I have friends who are great at cooking and very nice girls but also not very attractive and guess what : they're not successful in the dating field at all .

Many women are very loving

To people they aren't using.

can cook

Sure.

want children

Possible.

Also , many men don't want children themselves

Majority of men actually want children, brings them joy having a offspring.

Men generally only care about appearances

Yep, they are designed this way, and women are designed to be more physically attractive.

I have friends who are great at cooking and very nice girls

Need age range.

but also not very attractive and guess what : they're not successful in the dating field at all .

Yeah, men are look at how good you look first if your decent should have a decent dating field.

they're not successful in the dating field at all

Standards might be high, a skinny or chubby girl looks nice while a skinny or chubby you looks bad.

Maybe , but many of them don't . More women want kids than men . Women are programmed to want kids , men aren't.

Not so much no .

men aren't.

Yes they are, they are programmed to fuck as many women as they can to spread offspring.

19-20

It's appearance, if she was late 20 then she would be dating lots of men around the age. Majority of men near 19-20 haven't lowered their standards and/or not actually looking for relationship.

[–]nomdplumeFormer Alpha0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would agree with this, though men are also instinctually driven to pair bond. Which still doesn't mean that they are as compelled at anywhere near female levels to specifically raise children.

The father-child bond can be very strong, but it is still a fraction of the mother-child bond.

Yeah, no. Not in my experience. The baby train is almost always being driven by women in every social circle I've been in. I can think of a handful of exceptions, and of those, only one had "baby rabies" at the level of the average female.

Wait wait wait. Are you telling me that something incredibly sexist and anti-feminist was on 4chan? No, no, that's just much for me to handle, I can't believe that such a progressive and thought provoking place like 4chan would have something like this posted on it's forums.

Anyway, women can always cook for people and still be a feminist, strong and independent. Sometimes they like cooking. Some women want children as well, and they can be strong, independent women as well. This is actually insulting to women who want families and want to be house wives because it assumes that they can't be strong and independent. This is not the fruit of feminism or women's liberation. This is some bozo spewing bullshit.

Single Mom Myth #2: She Receives Public Assistance From the Government This is another assumption that many people make about single moms. In reality, only 31.5% of single custodial parents - both men and women - receive some form of public assistance. In addition, the program that used to be known as "welfare" (Aid to Dependent Families) is now called "Temporary Assistance to Needy Families," or "TANF." In 2007, only 4.3% of custodial single parents received TANF, and 21.2% received food stamps.

They have to attach the words "strong", "independent", and "feminist" to their identities instead of realizing relying on other people, or needing a spouse, or letting people take care of them is not a thing to be ashamed of.

If you live in a society you are not independent god damn it

i agree with this, so then how would you describe yourself?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well I'm not going to call myself independent

[–]nomdplumeFormer Alpha0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly.

How you choose not to describe yourself is as important as how you choose to describe yourself.

[–]GoldPilot(⌐■_■)3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's a quality strawman. Because women with careers don't exist in this dimension, right?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks, I stuffed him myself

women can always cook for people

Sure.

Some women want children as well, and they can be strong, independent women

-Divorce husband -Get Child Support -Calls herself independent.

Sure.

Why is she divorcing her husband? So if she's in an abusive relationship, she should stay with him? And who says they will divorce.

[–]feminists_love_anal1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why is she divorcing her husband?

It doesn't matter. In a no-fault divorce, there should be absolutely no alimony payout.

[–]FallingSnowAngel1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Right, your kids might be absolutely fucked, but who cares? Your childhood is more important.

[–]feminists_love_anal2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

alimony != child support

[–]Villaintine╰▄︻▄╯0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So if she's in an abusive relationship

All the divorced women were in abusive relationships, didn't you know? It's just strange how it only becomes an abusive relationship during/after the divorce. Strange...

[–]andrewisgoodYou are a fountain of misinformation0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If.

Words ladies and gentlemen, they are important. Reading them is necessary. Not that anyone would be reading a 5 day old thread.

[–]RedIsSafe[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

What if she isn't in a abusive relationship. Men can be abused in relationship too.

[–]andrewisgoodYou are a fountain of misinformation4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Slick move dodging the question.

If it isn't, then there could be numerous reasons for a divorce. Plus, statistically speaking, single mothers don't live off of government assistance by the way.

[–]RedIsSafe[S] -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, but they do raise criminals.

[–]andrewisgoodYou are a fountain of misinformation6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Well, since we're going off of correlation equals causation, the rise in single parents is the reason for the decrease in crime. Hey, it's as valid as your statement.

[–]RedIsSafe[S] -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

No it's not. My statement has facts.

[–]andrewisgoodYou are a fountain of misinformation4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I've read about that statement. Ours are both factual.

[–]RedIsSafe[S] -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yes. The only way to raise a proper child is half both parents. Single mother are too nice they want to be their kids friend, they raise criminals. Father are too harsh, nothing I can find negative currently.

Average marriage last seven years.

Less than 50% are getting divorced in the US so I assume this is an exaggeration.

It's a horribly false statement. Women can also get jobs and contribute to the professional sector. Might as well extract something out of them while they're alive.

Women are attracted to wealth and power, strong and masculine. Becoming upper middle class isn't hard if you put the work in.

Women are attracted to wealth and power

So are men...

strong and masculine

A lot of men are attracted to strong (strength of character etc.) women. Saying women are attracted to masculinity isn't some huge revelation, men are attracted to femininity, so...?

Generally people might find those qualities attractive but those qualities alone won't normally lead to a relationship unless you're dating someone incredibly shallow.

[–]RedIsSafe[S] -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So are men...

Men don't like to feel like they are living off of people, they want to be their own men.

Femininity is different than masculinity. Femininity is fragile, cute, weaker, dependent. Masculinity is strong, handsome, independent, brave.

In Ancient Rome, near the fall of the empire; Women didn't need men, specially rich women. Men started becoming single more and being a single man was shunned on so much that they wouldn't allow you to do, go, or participate in certain things. Men didn't feel like they needed women, started being selfish, like a MGTOW. Military power was at it's worst of the empire and soon after fell, well at least one part did.

lol. You mean some or maybe most men don't like to feel like that just as some/most women don't either. tl;dr most people regardless of gender don't like to feel like that.

Femininity is different than masculinity. Femininity is fragile, cute, weaker, dependent. Masculinity is strong, handsome, independent, brave.

I agree femininity is different to masculinity but I don't agree that weakness or dependency are feminine traits.

And your final flourish is "women brought down Rome", a perfect finish to truly demonstrate the depths of your ignorance.

People have been insulted for being dependent off us stuff.

Weakness, yes. Women are physically weaker. Dependency, yes. Women are physically weaker and some studies say that men are smarter, that would mean men do better work. (Some, not all.)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

RP and I don't like it. It implies that sex is freely available and women are like sex vending machines. A good sex life is not such an easy, fluid task for a man.

It implies nothing if the sort, it implies that women have shriven themselves of everything that gave them value to men besides their holes

[–]wtknightHardcore Romantic3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Right, because no man would actually want to be friends with a woman...

[–]Lonny_zone0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He is onto something with the idea that women objectify themselves, which I believe is generally true.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I think a lot of people have been lead to believe that having a spouse and a family is for suckers and that they are "missing out" by not fucking around and buying materialistic shit they don't need, thereby making other people rich off their labor and consumption

They think it's their choice to be "independent" and "free", but really they are just being manipulated

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Aren't TRPillers pretty anti-family , pro-independence themselves?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

thereby making other people rich off their labor and consumption

You do the exact same thing if you have a family. In fact if anything you do it more because you're obligated to make and spend that money constantly to support the family which you aren't if you don't trap yourself with a wife and kids.

really they are just being manipulated

I'd argue this is what's true for many people who have kids, because so many people do it by default because it's what's expected of them. They are doing nothing but following that society wants them to do, being manipulated by their family and peer pressure.
