I was at the used car lot the other day. Salesmen had two cars with the same model, same color, same accessories. One was owned by a kid in their 20s who took road trips and generally drove it hard. The other was owned by an older couple who mostly kept in in the garage. Which car do you think I drove off the lot with? Yes I might have paid a higher price for the car with low milage --- self improvement, being an alpha, going against fem society --- but that car is going to be better for me in the long run.

Actually, we don't! I know.... I know that this is hard to hear, but we actually don't hate sluts! There is differentiation. We advocate getting promiscuous women as FWBs and not keeping them as LTRs. You say this shit like all women are in successful relationships. Yes, there are some "reformed sluts" who have a successful relationship, but this is not the norm. I don't call a 40%-50% divorce rate successful. That means out of every two marriages you see one of them will end in divorce due to "commitment issues" and "infidelity" which reads to me as trouble with pair bonding with your mate; also, in that same link it says 60% of second marriages end in divorce as well.

Being a slut is not bad.

I wouldn't pick one for an LTR, because they are a bad bet. You are more likely to be cheated on. You are more likely to be the man she "settled for" than the "man she wanted". Critically, I also think men have an instinctive negative vibe when thinking of LTRing a slut. It don't feel "right".

So both our head (MB) and our gut (LB) are against it, purely on probabilistic grounds.

Many beat the odds. The odds aren't even that bad. But do you want your relationship to be the 50:50 shot, or the 1-4 on favourite ?

I've met previous sluts who have been faithful but I have met far more that haven't been. They also typically stay close friends with ex fuck buddies and ex boyfriends but don't you dare say anything about them spending a drunken night at their house frequently.

I know the vast majority are bad for relationships by the way they would act when I was spinning plates and other experiences. The girl who wasn't run through? She was emotionally stable, had a career and other qualities which made her relationship material.

My point is that I'm sure there are those who can be relationship material but the vast majority aren't and I don't gamble with my commitment card or hand it out easily.

So what benefit is it for me to risk something so valuable on a chance?

No, goddamned it!

Some/many/most/whatever TRPers make a personal judgement call that sluts are bad, but that's on them. More power to them - you gotta know yourself and what you want and don't want in life.

My two best female friends, both of whom I adore and who adore me, are probably what TRP would consider "sluts" (they both have engaged in quite a bit of casual sex - one was poly/open, the other is a highly-active "serial monogamist" who doesn't like to get too tied down).

The fact that they are "sluts" doesn't affect me one way or the other, since I do not and will not be looking to them for a LTR.

As a matter of fact, I like that my best friends are sluts because, in addition to them being really cool chicks who take exceptionally good care of me in all kinds of ways, I get to play with them in a sexual manner all the time (including the actual sex I've had over the years with one of them) and it doesn't bother them. I can be my dirty old man self with them ('cause they are both ridiculously hot) and they don't get offended. It's awesome...
