Can you say narcissist?

Her husband was right to have a vasectomy if he didn't want children. His body, his sperm. He loved her and still wanted her as a wife, and nothing wrong with that.

If having children was her number one goal, she should have left the marriage and found a man who would accommodate that. Trying to put the blame on her husband for herself then wanting to have sex with a multitude of men is a low act.

Her actions are the actions of someone with narcissism. She subjected her husband to emotional torture after he didn't do what she wanted (give her a child).

Maybe she just wanted an excuse to sleep with a lot of men - and if a woman wants to explore that, nothing wrong with it. But in her case, she should have left her husband first.

Edit: but I still wanna read the book ;)

This is one of those cases where both partners are behaving badly. Her husband didn't want to have kids and took steps to ensure they never did even though he knew it would leave his wife feeling unfulfilled with her life. If you love someone but you can't make them happy in life then break up so they can find someone who can. That applies to her as well, instead they sound dangerously co-dependent.

I've got big news for heterosexual men: If you don't want kids, you're gonna have some very "alternative" looking heterosexual lifestyles at your doorstep.

To put it another way, without kids your heterosexual relationship isn't held together by much. If you're looking for a wealth of shit in common with your lover, you may as well be gay and find a gay lover. Manis and pedis together with the chicks, or bear hunting together with the men - take your pick.

Who are we to judge the dynamic of a relationship? What might be seen as beta could be confidence in ability to maintain a marriage through unconventional exploration. Then again I am a fan of polyamory so open sexual exploration isn't a huge deal to me.

I would be curious how her husband feels about it.

Jeez I would be pissed at my wife for even suggesting this, forget about agreeing to it. If she feels the need to do this then it's probably just time for a divorce IMO. Of course I'm also the type who's not likely to ever be married in the first place, so meh.
