Why wait until 26 to get married? From a woman's perspective, if you want to wait until marriage to have sex, you should be looking for a husband as early as possible, and potentially get married between 18 and 20. That was the standard until very recently, then the whole idea that you need to "find yourself" and "find the one" seeped in and women started pushing marriage later while simultaneously starting sex earlier.

We know "the one" doesn't exist, just find a guy who has a good upbringing, a solid work ethic and is masculine enough to give you the tingles, and "love" will come by itself. A pretty 18yo can easily find a late 20s/early 30s guy like that, get a small and inexpensive wedding and carry on with her life. Marrying young doesn't prevent her from attending school or starting her "carreer", she doesn't need to get pregnant the first year of her marriage. The solution is quite simple, but it's very hard to go against social norms, but girls like this still exist in certain cultures.

Also CC from 21-25 is pretty standard. 21 is when women are able to drink. If you get them when they're 18-21 before they start bar hopping/clubbing and getting all that free male attention getting them expensive drinks you can set their expectations and mold them into suitable LTR material.

Correlation =/= causation. The loss of virginity at an early age COULD be causing the other effects, but a third factor could also be causing both. Perhaps societal factors that cause loss of virginity at an early age also cause sluttiness.

People begin to come to a sexual awareness of themselves at 14-15 in my experience. Suggesting that anyone, men or women, choose abstinence for 12 years goes beyond unrealistic or unreasonable. That's downright cruel.

I'd be a little wary of confirmation bias in this video and report, the Heritage Foundation has it's own ideological position to promote.

He lost me a little bit on the link to crime rates, overall crime rates have been dropping since the 90's and the bump in the 70s to 80s was caused by cutting police forces and light sentencing.

The turn around in crime rate, which I'm going off Freakonomics, is attributed to three major changes, more police on the ground, tougher and longer sentences, and access to abortion.

The last bit is hugely controversial but the data does support the position, the removal of unwanted children from society has lowered the crime rates.

The cost of STI's is in fact high in the USA, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23403600 , but that might also be a commentary on the US health care system in general. I tried to find costs for Canada (I'm Canadian, so is the presenter and we have public health) but couldn't find anything solid like the CDC report.

That being said my opinion is that the cause of those things listed is some other underlying mental state or condition.

Loosing your virginity at a young age does not cause someone to abuse their child later in life. Living in poverty is another one. Plenty of rich assholes abuse their children, and probably they get away with it more. Also, what is wrong with having sexual partners? Why is sex=bad when it comes to these types of posts? As a man in the west, why the hell would you want to get married? Kids don't give a shit if you are married or not.
