Since everyone else has already done a great analysis of this post, I’m going to instead analyze r/sex as a whole, and show how it’s one of the most toxic and damaging subreddits in existence. I’ve been frequenting the subreddit for a few years, so I’ve had a large sample size with which to base my analysis.

Almost any and all sexual contact that made a girl feel uncomfortable, she later regretted, or occurred during a period of non-sobriety is considered assault/rape by the majority of users. I’d say once a week maybe even once every three days, there will be a post asking “was I raped” or “I think I might have been assaulted” followed by a story which is almost always just a typical one night stand that had liquor involved. Or something along the lines of: “I was on a date and I was ok with him kissing me but then he tried to do more, I went along with it and I didn’t say no, but I felt uncomfortable..” posts of these types are met with resounding cries of “you were raped”, “go to the police immediately” etc etc. It’s extremely problematic because most of the time these are not instances of rape, not even close, and it promotes a false narrative of rape culture, and blurs the lines of consent and legality. If you have to ask “was I raped?” Then you most certainly were not raped.

Being a slut makes u wonderful and amazing and is super empowering. If there’s one narrative r/sex pushes above all else it would be this one. Anyone going against this will be shouted down, downvoted into oblivion and often outright banned. Even just expressing that you prefer to date someone with a low partner count will be met with extreme scrutiny and vitriol. Resulting in long back and forth arguments with users trying to convince that a girls n-count is meaningless.

When a man is complaining about his gf/wife not satisfying him sexually, he needs to communicate, be patient, do better in other areas of the relationship, and if all else fails, just accept it.

When a woman is complaining about her bf/husband not satisfying her sexually then it is 100% his fault and if he won’t do what she wants then she deserves better and she should breakup with him.
