That was the dumbest connection ever made. No, Kyle who plays video games 35 hours a week and takes you on a walk in the park like a dog isn't Mr. Darcy.

exactly, and it's also dangerous and not just because of COVID. like hell am I going to walk around a secluded park with a man I don't know.

Hahah yep, the pandemic has been glorious for scrotes who can offer you walk dates to warm you up followed by netflix and chill.

You wanna go old fashioned, rent me a MFing rowboat and read me a sonnet you composed for me while we float amongst the lilies (just not on the first date where I can get murdered out in the middle of a deserted pond). Other than that, nah son

Joke aside, if it were up to me I'd resort to old school letters. I can't stand being interrupted non stop by texts...and guys who feel they are entitled of my time, only to drop the conversation without closer or misbehave...it's like they're playing peek a boo.

So yes write me a sonnet for our first date, a play for our second and serenade me below my window for our third date.

I’d love to go on a walk after dinner. We can digest and maybe even go for hot chocolate or dessert or something after. I’m looking forward to it!

yep, a digestive walk to the mall so you can make sure I look amazing for our next dinner at this nice upscale restaurant...oh not interested in the walk anymore?

Wait, I thought were were supposed to be "progressive?" Why is she selling walk dates as something old fashioned? Old fashioned is supposed to be a bad thing, this is 2021!

These libfems don't make any sense.

Sure, we can go on a walk date just like in a Jane Austen novel, if....

he's gonna come express his intentions to my parents, propose to me at our third meeting and then spend a year writing to each other and getting to know each other chaste-ly over tea ;)

My father will carefully inquire as to his reputation, net worth, business dealings, real estate holdings, and cash income as well as his practical skills and educational pedigree. We will need to meet his family right away also, to make sure that they are of good character and breeding.

Oh, wait...

Somehow I think the scrotes intended that they will walk by their apartment and ask the girl to come up "since everything's closed and there's nothing else to do."

I really enjoy walk “dates” with my husband. We walk throughout the city and talk about anything and everything and stay out as late as possible. When the weather is nice, it becomes an almost nightly tradition, when it’s lousy out, we miss it. But they aren’t date dates, they aren’t days where we dress up and have a meal or another outing, because we like those just as much as our walks, but they are in fact more special, because they involve more effort.

I know a couple people who are pro walk date, one is because she used to be really heavy and is still self conscious about people watching her eat. Unfortunately, she has brought a yutz parade of boyfriends who treated her bad. Another says she likes them so she could bring her dog, so she has an excuse not to go home with them and if doggy hated the guy, she doesn’t call them, she’s now in a relationship. But both people have made that choice for different reasons, walk dates can be useful and a good buffer, for some, but they aren’t the same as planning a date, where you do something other than walking.

I loooove walks with my good friends, my mom...basically people I can trust. I also love them when I was IN a relationship...not as a first impression. I made the mistake last summer to indulge them as I was going through a hectic period at work so I figured out it would be a good way to have those steps in while dating (you know, win win for me, or at least I thought). LOL. What a mistake, it does set the tone for low..wait I should say zero efforts. I had just discovered fds and it took me a while for the principles to sink in but now it's either a well planned dinner date, an activity or I'll decline the date...and I'll get those steps by myself.

There is this myth that a man can begin with low effort dates like walking and coffee dates and then after he sees what you bRiNg To The TaBlE he'll start courting you properly and start putting in the effort. This is a lie perpetuated by LVM to lower our standards during the dating stage. If a man begins low effort as you said it sets the tone and that's how he'll continue being for the remainder of the relationship.

So true! In reality, the woman can start feeling attached while he remains low effort...this is exactly how the cycle of "nagging"/not feeling valued starts.

Walking dates is perfectly fine with people you're in a good committed relationship with (or friends of course), but not as a way of courting a woman and trying to get her interest, which is what men should be doing on dates.

Unless its in the england countryside wearing a dapper suit its not romantic and if tea is involved i assume its a full high tea picnic than just a sTrOlL..still super risky tho

[–]pinkcloudzzzFDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LOL a walk back then was a gesture of courtship and intent to marry, and a chance for the man to show the assets he could share with the woman. What assets is Kyle who’s looking for a fwb showing me on a pandemic walk where he doesn’t offer to pay for my Starbucks? Lmao byeeeee

I have a question? Are walk dates always a no? I ask because a friend of mine met her current partner on Hinge at the beginning of quarantine so there wasn’t much to do but they walked two days back to back around the city of hours talking and from what I’ve seen so far he is a good guy. He’s in med school, took her home to see his parents this past Christmas, and overall actually seems pretty solid. I’m wondering because I don’t think he’s LV but she was the one who asked him out. Aka two no nos for us but they seem good?

Just trying to reconcile FDS rules with how I’ve seen things play out.

[–]Dontstopmenow2021FDS Newbie[S] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just see how things unfold for your friends...it has never panned well for me even when the guy was decent...and she asked him out? No no no. He may be passively reciprocating, because it's lockdown and he's horny and lonely but watch out for when he'll stop reciprocating and she'll realize he never pursued her actually.

I guess they are already intimate huh? How convenient. I dated during the summer when everything was open but I refuse to date during lockdown.

[–]fastfreshFDS Newbie0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes they have been. I’m getting sort of inexperienced shy vibes from him vs LVM but you’re right we’ll see how things go. I found it nice he took her home but we’ll see. I definitely want to be pursued though so I’m not asking anyone out
