Depends on what you mean by “liberal”. Social liberalism destroys society. Why I left the libertarian party was the realization that LGBTQ, feminism, abortion etc. are all from the same thought process. It’s all about destroying the family unit. When the family unit goes, society goes. I don’t hate gay people but the normalization of it and pride parades are bad for society. If you don’t know what I am talking about go to any far left city like Portland or Seattle.
The only modern social liberal thing I really believe in is legalizing drugs. Either way though the Republicans are the only hope at the moment. I was a big Ron Paul guy but at the moment defeating cultural Marxism is the task at hand. Differences between libertarians and conservatives can be sorted out later.

Conservatism is as compatible with Libertarianism, as Marxism is, that is to say they are in no way compatible.

I guess my response to this would be predicated on how you define "family unit", as well as what force, policies or laws you would like to see to "protect" or "enforce" said family unit.
If you believe in the Ultra Religious Christian or Jordan Peterson style laws, policies and enforcement then I would have to oppose you in the strongest possible way and question how much you actually understand about history if you believe that is "what is best for society"

When we judge people based solely on whatever nice, neat, little box marxism has put them in, we are overlooking the more important and real things in the world.
A person's sexual identity is not important, realistically. What they do in their bedroom is of nobody's concern, and it does not impact anyone else.
But when you make their worth tied exclusively to some trait like that, it gets over inflated and people get pissed off about hearing it non stop.
There are far more important things that we should weigh each other on, like work ethic and self awareness.

There's a lot of utilitarianism baked into these statements. Which I know is where most people fall towards, what the the results of X action, what can provide the most utility to the most people? What are the overall effects, and are they a net negative or positive?
But I generally stick to principled ethics, unless the results from my principles are utterly catastrophic. Thankfully my polyaxiomatic moral system is rooted in respect for sentience (and potential consciousness) and respect for sentient being's autonomy. This leads to a world free of government coercion (the NAP or non-aggression principle) and also means that I find it morally egregious to end the development of a fetus past the state where the brain and nervous system have formed at a basic level (because consciousness is now a potentiality much like someone in a coma may wakeup in a few months so he should still be protected from murder).
Ultimately I think the world would benefit more from looking inward towards what axioms they value most as individuals, extrapolating from those outward and, if the utilitarian dominos don't result in an absolute apocalypse, stick to them on principled merit.
An example of this is when most people debate legalization of drugs. I care less about the overall effects and more about the principle of personal autonomy. I own myself because I am sentient, and I can inductively reason that other entities with brains and nervous systems are as well. Therefore I afford them the same considerations as I would for myself. In this context, it doesn't matter if crime increases a bit if drugs are legalized, or more people accidentally overdose. The chips will fall where they may, and I care not to restrict this nor do I think I have any moral foundation to do so.

Your first mistake is confusing libertarians (small L) with the Libertarian party.
The Libertarian party does not represent libertarians, never has. It was started by Republicans when the Republican party started to move away from Low Taxes, low business regulations, etc, and more towards Right Social Issues.
This is why the Libertarian Party often has the mantra of "Fiscally Conservative Socially liberal"
That is not libertarianism however. libertarianism is all about Self Ownership, Self Agency, and Personal Responsibility. Individualism. Not "Fiscally Conservative Socially liberal". These traits are also why many MGTOW men are also libertarian.
