I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been accused of leading my male friends on when all I was doing is giving them basic respect/kindness. I would treat my male friends the same way I treat my female friends.

Why the hell are men so emotionally stunted to think that a woman showing basic human decency means you want them?

Ugh just yesterday I went outside bc I was expecting some construction guys to cone fix something at my house. There was a guy standing there so I mistakenly assumed he was one of the workers because he kinda looked it. So I started asking him something. Long story short turns out he was my neighbor’s nephew who is supposed to be moving in with her because he is getting divorced. I’m really friendly and extroverted. To me it’s nothing to converse with strangers. So ofc after 2 min of a chit chat he starts telling me I’m beautiful and asking if I’m single. I kinda ignored the hints and told him I need to get back in the house. This is exactly why women are apprehensive about being nice to strange men. Now I’m absolutely positive that once he moves in with his aunt he will try to hit on me more. I don’t have a problem to tell him off but it will still be uncomfortable and I’d much rather not have to deal with that

This dude at the weed dispensary flirted with me over my edibles every-time I went. Didn’t use to bother me except for when they actually use that as an excuse to ask you out; that is stresseful! I don’t want to stress about the response to turning someone down when I’m shopping!! If I were available, I’d make my life they way but not when I’m shopping🤦🏼‍♀️

Guys think everything is flirting so I’ve had to learn is that guys over sharing personal details of their life, even small ones, like how they like their sandwhich (when women say stuff like that it’s just normal being friendly but women usually mind their business and I am socially starved and use to assume it was JUST being friendly but it’s not,) I’ve also learned to be passive and grey rock.

This dude I was grey rocking I couldn’t one day cause I was stressed and wanted to not spend more time over thinking how I came across so I just let him think my friendliness was flirting and omg; “did you bike here? Dang when I was in Michigan I biked to work all the time I loved it” and starts leaning in. (Bippity boppity BACK UP.)

I just wanted my edibles 😭😭

Not the same thing, but when I worked in a grocery store when I think I was 22, one guy a bit older than me asked me where an item was, and I told him. I worked on my cart, going to different aisles. He asks me where another item is and I tell him. I keep working. He finds me again to ask if he can have my number. I politely decline.

I mean, he took it well enough, but it was kind of annoying to keep being bothered by this game or whatever he was going for. I think had this happened now when I'm less patient, I may have been sharper in my response.

Also, let's start teaching kids that you don't hit on employees or anyone else who can't tell you "no" without risking consequences. Don't hit on waitresses and stockers and cashiers. Just don't. They aren't there for you. If you're that interested, just slip them your number and let THEM decide.

"But she might not give me a chance!" Dude. You don't even know a thing about her other than you're attracted. There is no great loss on either side.
