I used to be a fan of horror movies, i still claim that i am, but i haven't found a horror movie that i actually like in some time now. Horror movies have always been the domain of female lead characters because we typically think of females as being weak and in need of protecting. But, that isn't to say there aren't good horror movies with male leads and some of these are my favorite horror movies: Event Horizon, Wrong Turn, and Misery to name a few. What's great about the male horror lead is that the lead will actually have to struggle and may not make it to the end. In Event Horizon, Laurence Fishburne's character sacrifices himself for the two remaining members of his crew, something rarely seen with female leads. In Hostel I, the character "Josh" doesn't make it do the end (and though this movie gets a bad reputation today, i think it is a good representation of how women manipulate men). In Mirrors (not a great movie, but had its moments), Kiefer Sutherland's character ends up trapped in the mirror world. At the conclusion of "In the Mouth of Madness" Sam Neill's character slips into madness while the rest of the world is destroyed around him.

In all these cases, the men can lose. Them being a main character isn't a guarantee that they will survive, or would want to survive, when the credits role. But, with today's belief that "vagina = goddess", if the main character of the horror movie is female you know that despite everything she will go through, she will come out with barely a scratch and while there may be a final jumpscare at the end, we won't see her die.

The joke is on them, actually.

They think these "pink reboots" actually show women as leaders in popular culture. What they actually show is that women are incapable of producing anything new or intriguing. They show that the best they can do is take well worn properties, established and made great by great men, and simply redo what men have already successfully done.

There is no power in that. There is no talent in that. There is no history in that either, because it's all banally transparent. If these women, writers, and producers had any real talent, they'd have the courage and skill to bring out new properties featuring women, like what happened in the late 1970's with Alien and Halloween.

Instead, all these 'pinkwashings' show is that women today are incapable of creating anything of cultural significance, and that the only thing they can be trusted to do is take over characters and stories that were made great by men.

Looks like they got to the new Star Trek series too based on the trailers and previews. People are already calling it the U.S.S. Diversity instead of Discovery. I've watched all of the Star Trek movies and series but I'll have to skip this one. Barely made it through Voyager until they got 7 of 9 then there was a reason to deal with the garbage.

They didnt take Ghostbusters, or Star Wars. The originals of those are the only ones we want to watch anyway. The best part of this is that they didn't "take" any of it...in each case a white knight/Mangina gave it to them.
