Yet again, there's another online article taking about how men are "man-boys" or that have "peter pan syndrome". For each of these articles, they tell us that we need to "man up" which leads me to this rant:

Why does "manning up" always seem to mean that I find a girl, put up with her BS while paying for everything, getting married, and have kids? I mean, I have a good job, make good money, don't owe any debt, act maturely at all times, treat people with respect, keep in shape, etc. As far as I know, I've already manned up. But no, since I'm not dating them, buying dinner, drinks, marrying them and what not i'm not considered a man. Last time i checked, I didn't give them permission to define for me what a man is; nor did I give them permission to what I should do with my life. I am not their expectations and Im going to live life the way I want to. As it stands "manning up" means I have to trade in a comfortable life where I have time and money to pursue my career, hobbies, and dreams, for a life where I work as a corporate peon 24/7 to be a submissive ATM for some girl who can take at least half my stuff and get a free paycheck from me at the drop of a hat. Not to mention that this girl probably doesn't brink much to the table as it is. Also, how come they didn't tell those bad boys they messed with in their 20's to man up? But no, there they are in their 30's with the biological clock ticking telling the guys they often rejected or put in the friend zone to man up. Truth is we've already manned up. We've manned up to the point where we realized that those females just don't fit into the equation.
