Which is funny, some of those jobs pay VERY well. I have a friend who has been doing sewage contracting work and he makes 6 figures a year. Oddly enough, he does have the worst luck with women even with the income.

The good "ole" Pareto principal always applies. The men in blue collar jobs that essentially keep the infrastructure going & the gears turning in society are invisible to these entitled women.

I remember back in 2013, there was a major ice storm in my area at the end of December. It occurred just before xmas eve & many areas were out of power for at least 5 days. The Hydro / utility crews were all men working their asses off in ugly weather day & night to get power restored.

Do these hydro guys get paid more than a female HR administrator or a gender studies tumblrina? Damn right they do! If it wasn't for these type of hard working men, these princesses would have no smartphones / laptops to begin with.

I think people mistake honesty on her part when it really is arrogance & entitlement. She's not being honest per se, she is just flat out saying that she's deserve the world because she has a vagina. That's a delusional mind.....

For what it's worth.... I've worked in large scale software development for the past 15 or so years. I love it. I was assigned to a mission critical project about six months ago headed by a guy I've worked with for over ten years. He's brilliant. I knew he was planning on retiring (he's earned it and then some) and everyone was on pins and needles to see who he'd groom to take over his place as lead architect (only the most qualified get this title). He chose a thirty-something woman. And before you lose your shit, she has proven to be the most competent development lead I've ever seen. She's funny, has great people skills, just gets stuff done, and goes to every happy hour. She can pretty much solve any software problem we throw at her. She's a hardcore gamer and uses the firm's infrastructure for LAN parties when a big new game release comes out. Married, centered, not a flake. I've gotten to know her and we get along great. If you're wondering about unicorns or NAWALT's.... cogitate on this for a bit before rolling your eyes. She's a Navy kid. Her dad was a carrier officer. And she beat cancer at age 30. Think discipline. Think values. Think survivor who takes nothing for granted. Think about what you yourself value. She has it in spades. This image post made me grin. But for not the reasons you may think.

What we're seeing here is an example of inherent gynocentrism, or as Stardusk would call it "small f" feminism. This commenter didn't need to rely on feminist theory to make a sophisticated argument for why women shouldn't work dangerous jobs. This attitude that men are disposable utilities, and women are more valuable by virtue of being women (golden uterus) predates ideological feminism, and is actually rooted in our evolutionary past. I was also reminded of this Colttaine quote:

it’s rather telling to me that over our 10,000 year history of agrarian society and 5,000 year history of large-scale civilization, an organized movement of ideological feminism didn’t happen until the last 150 years of industrialization. After millennia of back-breaking preindustrial labor, women didn’t aggressively demand an equal place in the workplace until that meant moving from a comfortable couch to a comfortable office chair, and we see the exact same thing with the sexual revolution, or more accurately, the movement of female sexual empowerment.
