Hi Ladies!

Newer lurker here, so I hope I haven't asked a common question.

I (22F) am an aerospace engineer who has no intention of quitting and loves my career. In fact, I want to be an astronaut long term, and have a real passion for space. I love to work on my car, work with my hands, and am generally pretty independent.

That being said, I wouldn't call myself a tomboy; I love dressing femininely, can be nurturing when I want to, and believe in the pillars of RPW. I have some more "feminine" hobbies, such as knitting, cooking, reading, and gardening, and I have no problem letting a *good* man be in charge. I'm not in a rush, but I'd really like to try and find my man within the next few years.

So here are my two questions:

  1. I know this sounds incredibly boastful, but I think I am reasonably attractive. I have a great body, really nice hair/face/skin, and dress well. Though I am grateful for this (and have actually worked very hard to achieve this), I worry that an excess of the feminine in my current workplace environment could lead to my (all) male coworkers to take me less seriously, or think I am coming onto them. I'm not out there wearing pink head to toe with my boobs out, but unless I seriously wear grey and black all the time, I can't really hide my feminine beauty. How could I mitigate the effects of my femininity on my coworkers so that it doesn't seem that I'm "signaling" or flirting somehow?
  2. Aerospace engineering is a very male-dominated field, and I am worried that it will affect my ability to get a good LTR (along with the aforementioned more masculine hobbies). I am not interested in any casual flings, I date to marry, and have high standards (though nothing higher than anything I wouldn't expect of myself). Thus far I have had very little interest in dating (have been super career-orientated), but now my mind is moving towards it again and I feel that I am ready. I don't want to abandon these things, because as cliche as it sounds, I strongly believe in being authentic and not suppressing aspects of yourself long term. Are there men out there who wouldn't be bothered by my more masculine job? How should I navigate this issue?

Finding this sub was really awesome for me, and I can't wait to keep improving myself. Keep posting the great material!
