The core value of the political left is equality.

Is it more important to force equality onto society or is it more important to have stability in the family, economy and everywhere else?

According to both sides, you shouldn't be free to pursue your own interests in life because both sides need to mooch off of you. For different - opposing - reasons, but the result to you is the same.

I am a man. I am a single man with no practical interest in women. I like the idea of women, and damn if I’m not attracted to women in general, but having weighed the balance between the potential pros and cons of a relationship I have decided that one is simply not worth my time for the foreseeable future.

I, and we men collectively, do not owe this woman anything. We do not owe anything to women collectively. I’d be interested perhaps in re-establishing iron rules for an equal trade, but that means women collectively and individually would have to owe something to us men collectively and individually as well.

I see no reason to sacrifice my own happiness purely for the benefit of others.

Here's what I think is happening after googling her for a moment.

Her birthday is literally next week, she'll be 28. The median age for marriage in the US is 27.
