Damn, I had gone on a couple of coffee dates that I entirely forgot about... I didn't think anything of it at the time, and those guys were entirely forgettable and a coffee date with them was no different than just hanging out at the coffee shop and talking to strangers. I never saw these guys again. I even remember later being like, huh, he told people that we dated?

Now that I think about it, more girlfriends have paid for my coffee than men, because actual coffee dates never offered to pay for anything at all. If a girlfriend invites me to coffee because she needs to talk, she at least offers to pay, or sometimes just does it without asking. The fuck is wrong with men.

What's wrong with a coffee date for a first date? Genuinely asking. I've liked them because they are easy to end if you're not giving, but admittedly I've never gone on a second date with someone after a coffee date.

What's wrong with a coffee date? My other half and I have made it a tradition since our first date was getting coffee. It's casual, it's comfy, it's inexpensive and it's easy to leave so if it doesn't go well, no one is feeling put out due to cost. It allows space for conversation without the complexities of dinners
