Yep, this is what I expecte to see from games moving forward. They are not going to use the extra power to make things look better, they are going to use it to get away with making development cheaper.

Back in Crysis days you had "those guys" in development that pushed tech forward, they wanted to make it look better, they wanted to do it better and then they wanted MORE. All those chads are gone, they have been pushed away, canceled or grinded to dust by a thankless industry that considered them disposable and had no problem firing them to artificially inflate their year numbers and replacing them with the cheapest cardboard cutouts they could find from local colleges or foreign slaves

Same story with Mass Effect Andromeda, the promotion of the game was all about how it's made by a diverse team of 90% White women 'supervising' things and getting all the spotlight and 30k per month salaries while Brogrammers were working on a limited budget and resources and getting zero thanks for their work. As a result the game is garbage compared to the original trilogy and it was a commercial failure. Of course they blamed it all on misogyny and not on their business model.

Expect the same from Assassin's Creed Valhalla later this year, Ubisoft is all about how the game is being made by women and not men, the gameplay footage which they say is 'not final yet' but we all know it is or almost is less than three months from release, looks garbage.

I was going to buy the whole $5-700 dollar console just for Halo, cause of course you have to play the new Halo if you played all the previous ones a ton, but now that this will probably suck I'm going to have to justify buying it for the only other series I personally played a ton, Forza. A whole console just for Forza, on launch? Nah. And I played Forza games a shit ton.

I'll probably wait at least a half year to full year after launch to get a better idea of if things are even worth it, though also I've been off games for over a year trying to better my life, and perhaps i wont go back anyways.

I just watched the trailer since I didn't realize there was more content out till I saw this. I think some of these images are cherry picked. Looking at the gameplay video, the detail is definitely there and overall the graphics are better but they used a different art style with smoother / cleaner textures instead of dirtified ones where it's more readily apparent to see the details.

People hold hard to this Get Woke Go Broke battle cry, but despite the obvious problems now with delivering a 3rd story, The Last of Us II had great opening sales becoming the fastest selling PS4 exclusive. I don't think sales equates to quality but they're not going broke anytime soon.

I'm sure some of the woke politics are annoying to deal with in the workplace but this game will do just fine. I didn't play 4 or 5 as they didn't look interesting to me and I'll wait till there's more content on Infinite before making a decision but I could care less if the product was made 100% by women as long as I enjoy it.
