Honestly it pisses me off. How many arguments have I been in over reddit and Facebook alike with privelideged men crying about feminism.. When women all over the world have to deal with this.. When they act like victims because they can't get laid... This is what women have to deal with. I know this because I'm a South African. That also has an unacceptable amount of gender based violence. Iv protested and marched with my sisters to be met with silence or shrugs from the polical party in power. I come on reddit and find feminist groups that we can bring awareness, educate women. Only for them to be taken down for "hate speech". Every feminist platform is plagued with butt hurt men and lib fems screaming to pay for half a fucking meal.. And too busy being "sexually liberated" to talk about the fact that out of an approximate 40 million illegal slaves 79% are women and girls. Most of the time used for sexual exploitation.. women all over the world ARE DEALING WITH THIS. Turkey, India, Yemen, Syria, South Africa, Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Mali, Sudan... I could go on and on.. But apparently those women don't count. So fucking sick of this world

I had a guy from Istanbul trying to make a move on me three years ago. I told him his job must be hard (government researcher/ politics). He told me it could never be as hard as my job. I thanked him, there's not a lot of people understanding the hours and time commitment necessary for my job. He asked me what I meant since I'm single and childless. I asked him what he meant.

He meant being pregnant and raising babies in Istanbul with him! 🧐🤬

I spent a lot of time there and also dated a Turkish guy and I can say that I've never witnessed a more polarizing society when it comes to the treatment of women.

50% of men aged from 8 to 88 I've encountered in streets, shops, beaches etc. were unbelievably courteous, respectful, helpful and the most gentlemanly mannered guys I've met in all of Europe.

The other 50% were ogling creeps that ruin it for everyone else. Also with the influx of migrants from Syria, Iran, Iraq etc. PLUS their own uneducated, patriarchal people coming from rural areas into big cities PLUS their president's backwards policies, good guys hardly stand a chance.

Turkey is not included in the given link, apparently not considered in EU statistics but 500 in 84 million is less than 0.6 in 100.000 which is less than UK, Latvia and Hungary and slightly higher than EU average. That's still terrible, murder of women in Turkey happens by the hands of their relatives or partners which is mostly (nearly all the time) by male ones.
