Are men who cold approach LVM?

Personally, I’ve never met a HVM who cold approaches. Keep in mind that PUA are encouraged to cold approach women so calm and collected to “establish an authentic connection.” If a man doesn’t have any shred of nervousness while approaching me, I make the quick assumption that this behaviour is rehearsed and he’s done it many, many times before.

I’m not saying all men who cold approach are inherently low value players. I’m sure there’s an anomaly, but with the PUA strategy in mind I would rather not entertain it at all.

I would evaluate the setting as well. If it’s the street or a typical gym aka a place where people should damn well be minding their own business, I immediately dismiss as they are straight up using PUA tactics. If it is at a place where there is more of a sense of community and he strikes up a convo based on that common interest (e.g at a climbing gym, a social group), then I would respond to see what he has to say.

A cold approach is based almost completely on appearance, because that's all the information you have about a stranger. Appearance is important but having that be your only criteria is LV in my opinion.

If all a guy knows about you is what you look like, then I'd say that it's definitely a LV action. If he is HV, your whole existence should matter to him, not just your appearance, which will change over time anyway.

🚩 yep, to me it is. It means they're desperate, so likely no other woman in their life wants to go out with them, so they turn to random women in the street. It also means they likely care only for your looks and not personality

I feel like it depends, maybe I'm biased bcs I'm younger or bcs I'm black and it's quite a regular occurrence in my community, but I see it as pretty normal to get moved to in an educational setting or on the street - though as another commenter said the type of men who do this do it often. So if they approached you on the street it's likely that they've approached several other women the same way. Just vet them as usual.

Yes. I agree with other commenters on the fact it's a PUA tactic and all they know is your appearance. I will add that HVM are concerned with quality over quantity, it's LVM that need to cast a wide net by approaching random women on the street.

I believe any cold approaches are LV. It’s what PUAs are encouraged to do. All they know about you is how you look and carry yourself. A HVM will care about more than that.

If someone cold approached you on the street to sell you anything except for a relationship/sex would you trust them?

Bar or party might be different. But the only guy I knew that ever cold approached women in the street was not someone a self respecting woman would be with.

I am the kind of person who talks to strangers so I would say no, it depends on the situation/environment. I think the level of intimacy is important. Like, you're running outside by yourself and he approaches is different from being in the gym which is different from a large group cycling class which is different from a small yoga class that meets regularly where everyone knows each other's names. He sees you in a band shirt and strikes up a conversation on the subway is different from an outdoor concert which is different from being at the symphony in an auditorium which is different from you being in the same choir.

But maybe I just want to be approached so I can stop OLD. :p
