Yeah, Linux is becoming 'Woke'. It probably started with Linus Torvalds being chased away from his very own creation the Linux Kernel back in 2018 for insulting people who wanted to manipulate Linux Kernel source.

They adapted some 'Woke' Code of Conduct, Linus came back to maintaing Linux but they have now sworn to abide to Political Correctness....

Once we start renaming common program names like 'man' it will never stop.... I expect in 10 years you will get a shitstorm and subsequently be terminated from your company if you commit software code with variable names which are not political correct.

Hardly any woman contribute to Linux kernel. Women who get scared from the word man which means human are in gender studies, not in computer science. That man command has nothing to do with human either, it's an abbreviation of manual.

Unfortunately the very nature of FOSS and by extension, GNU/Linux, draws crazy woke people to it. Many mainline distros have Codes of Conduct that are ripe with woke lip service (Debian and Crunchbang off the top of my head).

The most common desktop environment, GNOME, concentrates more on social justice than delivering a solid product. They shoot down every suggestion for a feature and has gotten worse since GNOME 3 dropped. But hey, did you know they REALLY REALLY support BLM?

And of course Mozilla already announced that anyone with a non-woke viewpoint needs to be more than just deplatformed. They spend more money on diversity awareness than paying their programmers to make Firefox a better browser, it's two steps away from being yet another Chrome reskin.

GNU/Linux is a great OS, it's secure, it weeds out a lot of the botnet that is embedded in MacOS and Windows. But this tide of woke garbage is not slowing down.

I seriously doubt it. Linux kernel (what you're referring to as "5.20" has nothing to do with userspace application "man" (part of man-db project/package).

But we really have enough problems with replacing all masters and slaves with less offensive words :(
