I mean you can clearly see she NOW thinks her niceguy ex was a great guy, but how common is this mental clarity and self-honesty in women?

My impression is, that the vast majority of women rationalise their behavior (hamster) in their past relationships. They spin a story about how he was bad, or a loser, even if he was good. That's certainly how my own ex of 6 years thinks of me even now that sh'es down in the gutter while I'm on my way up. The kind of mental clarity and honesty this woman shows is rare.
