Height-fishing is a common phenomenon.
Men assume we're too stupid to notice or don't know what 6 feet tall looks like. It's been happening to short women too.
Men also begrudgingly add "6ft 2 because apparently it's important" to their OLD profiles (it should be enough to just add their true height), but clearly too many lie about it and women are noticing.

Listen sis if he says he’s 5’11- knock 5 inches off that shit he’s lying.
Claims he’s 5’9 = probably 5’3
I’ve found most guys over 6ft did indeed end up being tall but those 5’11 & below guys tell the most fibs....you gotta watch em 👀👀
I just don’t know why they lie do they think we don’t have eyes?
Like I’m short so when a 5’11 guy rocks up 2inches taller looking like a damn gnome somethings wrong & it isn’t my eyesight 🤣

My height, 5'5".
ALL said on their profiles:
5'9
I have enough short men in real life claim that.
"I'm 5'9/5'10".

LMAO what is it with 5'9 as the go to #? I am 5'2, and I've met several "5'9" men whose eyes were suspiciously low. I'm not even picky about height - literally be taller than 5'2 and we're good, so the lie is just unnecessary & an instant turn off.

I don't want men to exclude women above age x, especially when that is those men's own age group (say they are 40, they should stay within 35-45 instead of demanding a 25-year-old).
Likewise I don't exclude men who are 5'6. I gladly compromise here if their personality is cool and they have their shit together.

You see so many people say that they round up two inches bc girls can’t tell the difference. Every single OLD I’ve been on has rounded up. I’m 5’9. I can tell, guys. You are one inch taller than me (if that) and not the three you promised. What was worse was the “5’9” guys being closer to 5’6 though

I don’t know if I’m taller than my listed height (173cm I’m a tall tree), and the few guys I manage to meet are either around the same height as me, or clearly shorter. Why lie to me? I won’t find you attractive if you lie. 👀

One guy at my job kept making it a point that he was "the tallest dude in the building" and the more I interacted with him the more I got aggressive nerd/emotionally unavailable. I love tall men of course but damn, he really thought he was gonna impress people!

I don't know why men do this. I once matched with a former NBA player. His profile said he was 6'7" Google and all of the the player stat sites listed him at 6'6" Even the tall ones lie, even when they don't have to. He also proved himself to be a total perv during our second phone call. Needless to say there was no date. Scrotes.

I got arrested once (I was a stupid teenager, don't ask 😄) and the male officer next to me was writing down my info. We were the same height and he goes, "She's the same height as me, so that's 5'9"." Um, I was definitely NOT 5'9". 5'7" maybe.
So I think sometimes they just have some sort of block where they can't read numbers correctly when it comes to their height.

I've met way too many height-fishes. Everyone I meet always says they're 6ft tall. Listen, why am I always taller than them? I'm 5'11 and 1/2. Just about 6 ft tall with flat ass shoes on and I'm always taller than them lmao!

I always subtract a few inches. I’m only 5’5” but I’ve met supposed 5’8”/5’9” guys shorter than me or the same height, I mean Maybe I’m 5’6 if I stretch but I’m no way 5’8” and I hardly ever wear heels soooo. I’m personally not that bothered about height but I am bothered about guys who are weird and insecure about it and lie. I guarantee you most men who complain women ‘don’t like short men’ it’s not the height it’s the weirdo insecure behaviour they project onto women because of it that’s the biggest issue. Like why lie? I mean what are they gonna do arrange every date so its on a slope?

This was my Saturday! I was like who’s this eeny meeny miney moe silhouette approaching me? 👀 He said he was “5’11” when he was probably 5’5. I didn’t know this level of height-fishing existed. 😭
He also looked different from his pictures, in real life he had a scraggly beard, smaller build, meh face overall 😒 I would like to simply forget this memory 😌
