Facts. My two best friends are planning to marry soon. One is trad and the other is more libertarian.

They know my views, I know theirs, and we all roast each other. But I have tried multiple times to give them advice and they just don't listen.

Oh well, all I ask for is front-row seat.

That's why we say MGTOW doesn't recruit, we just sit back and watch them arrive. However what I think people mean when they say "I wish I found this sub...." is that they might have been able to identify toxic/cheating/poor behaviour they were being subjected to earlier and thus would have been able to limit the damage they took in the long run.

Well I guess thanks to my mother that I see female nature early on and it relates to me right away when I found mgtow when I was 17. I've always wondered is all women are like that or is it just my experience but mgtow confirmed the truth and I took the redpill and go my own way.

I place myself in the middle. Yes I was a simp, yes I was programmed to simp but since I was little I always ALWAYS ALWAYS had an ear and an eye open for anything out of the ordinary, for the one thing or argument that would defy what I already knew. I would have listened but without seeing and experiencing female nature, I would have probably ignored it.

I'll say this: even as a blue pill, marriage was OUT OF THE QUESTION ! Even then I had plenty of evidence to tell me marriage was a innordinate hassle for something that would inevitably break apart. My biggest dealbreaker with marriage was seeing the ammount of money being spent on it, just to be over after 2-3 years. All that money spent, FOR NOTHING.

But the simping part, that took significant un-programming to get rid of. And it took a combination of personal experiences combined with witnessing breakups and friendzoning at parties I went to back in the day, and a lot of time and repetition, to really get it into my head that something was, and is fundamentaly wrong with the dating scene, and to ask the bigger questions I haven't been asking before.

You are right to say most of us wouldn't have listened, but you miss the part where most of us only had the female centric programming voice in our heads, and no other voice to warn us. Forget "not listening". The alternative way of thinking wasn't even on the radar to consider. Nobody, nobody warned me !! Everyone peddled the same mindset, both men and women. That mindset was: simp, SIMP and SIMP SOME MORE !! Respect whammyn, no matter what ! There was no other voice !! Before you say "I wouldn't have listened" you need to know that "there was nothing to listen to" !!

I'm glad I was anti-MARRIAGE from the beggining tho !! At least I had the good sense to avoid that completely, without anyone warning me, so pats on the back for me for that one !

When a guy finds the shit is hitting the fan, then this sub is important, because it gives him the chance to realise that he is not alone; that she was not the one bad apple and the next will not be better; that the system is stacked against him.

And if that guy finds this sub before getting married but *after* starting a relationship, *then* maybe he gets helped.

I found mgtow thru antinatalism. There has been like 4 or 5 years from then and I can say, what you are saying is totally true. I was a mess and a pathetic simp thirsty for female acceptance. One good day I agreed with myself things like relationships aren't for me. I have never had a girlfriend. So I put on myself inmediately the glasses of reality and without being redpilled yet I understood marriage and not only women but also some men are worthless in terms of developtment.

I had a very rough time back then, I was on college and I felt very sad and angry about everything. Then I started to put my shit together so there was when I found out mgtow. I left black pills for the redpills and now I don't need to take them to often to know where I need to go. Some of us came here by another door but at the end all of us converge in the same point.

Honestly, I think the kind of simp-control really starts in our childhood, presumably done mainly by our mothers. If you can't over-come that (which, honestly, is HUGELY daunting), then the only thing which will save (and also destroy) you is to get completely burned up in the fire. Personally, I think people need to try to be there for kids now, hopefully to interrupt the mother's insanity. For me, it was my father's love (for as long as we he lasted and even beyond).

I agree with this post as a whole, but I think most married men who eventually ended up here would still have been better off one way or another if they found this sub beforehand, even if it didn't necessarily end up leading to them avoiding their marriages.

Maybe reading a few posts here would've made the difference between spotting a serious red flag a few weeks into a marriage versus not realizing it's a red flag until 5 years after they have kids. Or maybe they catch onto some behavioural pattern with their spouse that they read about on here, and that leads to them discovering their partner's infidelity. It certainly still has its benefits.

Overall, though, you're absolutely right. People have a strong tendency to disregard information that goes against their beliefs. Especially if they've already made a commitment to living their lives in a way that reflects those beliefs, as would certainly be the case for someone who finds themselves deep into a relationship that looks like it may lead toward marriage in the near future.
