I discovered TRP a few months after proposing to my fiance. Yes I know TRP generally doesn't encourage marriage but I would like to have the traditional nuclear family experience, anyway that's not the point of this post.

Even though I'm still relatively young, I've been able to acquire a pretty huge sum of money. I'm not bragging because the majority of this was from aggresssive, high-risk high-growth investments and making some pretty ballsy wallstreetbets moves. I was able to save up a shit ton of money in the Army (100k) and started investing about 6 years ago. As of a few days ago, when GME shot up, my Portfolio was worth a little under 5 million. I liquidated all my positions, and showed the bank account statement to my fiance. I know this is also stupid, but I can't help bragging about my accomplishments. What is interesting though is her reaction.

I was expecting her to swoon and be like "Ohhhhh good job honey" and start treating me very nicely because I filled that provider role (like when I got a promotion), but instead she was like "Is this a joke? You have 5 million dollars?" I told her it wasn't a joke and the app I was showing her on was from the bank. She then goes "Oh shit" and starts staring at the counter. She started biting her nails which she does when she's nervous, then she goes "Oh my god, I heard you can hit with some heavy taxes in situations like this. Have you looked into that?" I told her of course I looked into it and that if I was ignorant like that I wouldnt be in this position in the first place. She had to go to work so the conversation ended there.

Next saturday, I woke up and wakled into the kitchen to see her clipping coupons. She's always does this but I was surprised to see her still doing it because I basically just told her we'd be set for life. We could both retire right now and live off my investments but she isn't changing her behavior. The only way she is acting different is that she seems more tense and stressed about the situation. Whenever I bring it up, she pivots to another subject. I am going to directly confront her about what's up but I wanted to pick everyones brains here so I don't know going in blind. Is this a red flag? Should I next her?
