If you died tomorrow, people would be upset for a day, a week, a month, maybe even a year if you were truly close for a long time.

The painful truth is that life goes on for everyone. We are all on a solitary path throughout our lives.

Keeping with that analogy, sometimes our paths are meant to run paralleled for a long time. Sometimes our paths are meant to diverge, because of external factors, differences in goals and values, or simply new directions.

We truly are born alone and die alone, within the "vat" of our human consciousness experience.

This is not a nihilistic or pessimistic view, much the opposite actually. This should give you freedom to design your life as you wish. To write your own story the way you want it. Work on the skills, crafts, abilities, the future that you want. It's not going to be handed to you. As with all life, there is a chaotic ecosystem where you will face opposition around every corner, in some way or another.

Embrace the struggle and hardships, for they will form the future person with more mental strength than the person you are today.

All of my past most difficult times, I look back on with an almost reverent nostalgia today. There was freedom in being broke and jobless. I was absolutely badass the way I pursued my goals. And there are so many resources out there if you REALLY want to use them. For instance, being broke and jobless there were 5 employment centres in a 20 block radius of my house. An early morning 5am day-to-day general labour job you could show up for and get a job ticket for the day and cash by end of the week. Churches, foodbanks, soup kitchens to help with hunger. We are the smartest creatures on earth and by far the most resourceful, when you look back on our evolutionary history. So, what excuse is there to settle for a shitty life that you don't want to live? What excuse is there to give in?

In truth, most relationships are transactional with other people. Someone who tries to "give without expecting anything in return" takes RIDICULOUS dedication. Time and time again, your efforts will go unnoticed, and you're not supposed to expect anything in return. But you'll find yourself expecting people to be there for you when you need them for emotional support, for a reminder that you're not useless, or at the least, express gratitude in some way.

Everyone is trying to extract SOMETHING from you. Think of some of the benefits of any current relationships:

- Attention. They listen to your problems, care about your life, etc. Or you do the same.

- Validation - that your concerns and emotional issues are legitimate. Validation that you are, in fact, loveable or at least people can stand to have you in their presence.

No one truly gives a fuck about you and will do everything they can to make you happy.

First of all, we are all consumed with our own drama, excitement and issues in our life.

We all face hardships.

We all have things out there that we are trying to accomplish. Some far-reaching point in the future where we will be finally happy and have everything we've ever wanted. Unfortunately, that place doesn't exist. But the journey is one worth pursuing.
