Just sitting in the park, taking a moment for myself and I notice a young couple walk past me towards the center of the park.

They are in their early 20's. She's looking bored and just along for the ride, he's looking nervous as hell so I watch with interest.

He then puts down his bag, produces a bunch of roses and a ring and proposes to his now fiancΓ©. She appears to accept by his visible delight.

This poor guy then indurs the mandatory 20 minute Instagram shoot where he must replay every aspect of the proposal, multiple times over, for the benefit of her followers. Followed by him being instructed on how to take photos of her.

When they're done he collects his bag. Sets his cap back on his head and walk back past me with her following 10 ft behind, obviously uploading pics to her various accounts.

She looked like she just won on a scratch card while he looked like he'd just had his dog put down.

It's amazing how quickly life can slide once you pop the question. I wish him a long and happy marriage. Poor sod.

TLDR: Guy proposes, girl accepts, guy instantly regrets decision.
