11 years married, together 15.

I found out my ex was having an affair with her supervisor at work 3 years ago and didn't say anything while I prepared.

I changed jobs due to "stress" and went to a much lower paying job making exactly the same as her.

I then waited a year and shut down my fledgling beekeeping business due to becoming "allergic" to bees and gave the hives to my best friend.

I then "discovered" her affair and walked away from her and her three kids splitting half the savings while giving her the house we had bought a year prior that I had already financed in her name only and she paid the mortgage while I covered the house bills and car payment.

We split our savings $3k each and filed an uncontested divorce at a cost of $160 and I pay $0 alimony.

She ended up losing the house to foreclosure, lives in an apartment and works 80 hour weeks while I am currently at the same lower paying job but also now attending college to finish my degree, lost over 100lbs eating healthy and exercising, and have great new friends. The best revenge is being happy and living well.

Anyone know what would be normal in Florida? I'm afraid I'm heading this way (2 kids) but if I lose 50% of my take home pay... I have no idea how I would survive/afford to live anywhere other than a trailer or something... We both have jobs, but I make more than 115% more than she does.

initially I was paying around 40% for cs and alimony. This was with 50/50 custody. She decided to give up custody and relocate to a different state about a year ago which eliminated cs so currently paying around 20%.

It depends on if the kid is local or in another state. Alimony, I have no idea. This is whar my lawyer said.

I'll say increase your 401k and that will save you some money that's going to her. I think that will work.
