So I consider myself a feminist in the traditional sense - I highly regard the women who fought for our rights to vote, to hold office, to be paid a fair wage, to find shelter in times of abuse. I find girls like Malala Youfsai inspiring as they emphasize the importance of education, women like Jean Kilbourne who lead women away from the photoshopped ideal and to project a healthy image of femininity, like my grandmother who always put other family members before herself and ruled the family with incredible maternal power.

But I do not agree with the fact that women should be allowed (hell, even men) to do as they please whenever and however they want to without repercussions, whether it be sexually or mentally or whatever. I was raised in a household with a father who emphasized education and self-improvement and a mother who gave endless beauty tips (many of which I resented when I was young but now have come to appreciate) and how to respect oneself and hold high standards for a partner.

But as I've previously posted before, I feel confused. Very, very confused. I stumbled on this page by accident and find myself...agreeing with a lot of the sentiments here. Things such as "Love your partner and be his biggest champion without expecting anything in return: if he is a true RP man he will make sure to treat you like a queen," "Taking care of yourself physically, exercising, eating healthy, and improving yourself constantly is not only good for yourself, but also for your partner," "Children are important but the needs of you and your husband always comes before your children's wants," "Your partner is a rock and the Captain and you are the pillow and his First Mate..."

GAHH. I agree with these 100% and always have, even before I wandered into RPW.

But I also find myself disagreeing with some other posts on this subreddit. For instance, I don't think a high number of male partners essentially dooms a woman to spinsterhood. I think tattoos, along with other body modifications, are individual choices - although I would never get a tattoo. I don't think that the way a woman looks should judge her inner character, especially if her partner embraces those qualities and loves her for them.

Have I always had a RPW train of thought? I didn't even know that the RPW was even a thing until a few days ago! But since I consider myself a feminist also, does that even make me a RPW? Does it even matter? To me it does, because all those qualities I agree with being a RPW are the exact topics I can't bring up elsewhere. Does this make me a bad feminist? This is killing me, especially since I agree with so many of these points here and yet the sidebar clearly states that this subreddit is anti-feminist.

Help. I am so confused.
