Being concise is not one of my strong suits, but I'm going to do my best to be brief in the description of my issue. If I leave out anything important please let me know.

Things have taken a dramatic turn in my marriage, and though it was completely anticipated and worthy of celebration, I'm finding myself unexpectedly uncomfortable. My husband has just gotten his first job in his career field, and it is a really good job. From the start of our relationship to now, save for about six months in the middle, I was doing most of the earning to support us while he finished school. Now we will have enough money that my paycheck will basically just be bonus money and not anything we truly need.

This is exactly what we've been working toward, but I think the sharp increase in his overall mate value has thrown me for a loop, considering the only way I could suddenly increase in value that quickly is with a boob job or something. I've always done my best to be a good wife and I genuinely do put in a lot of effort to continue improving and being a great partner. So when something like this happens it makes me feel like I need to step up, but I can only step up so far.

I know this is a "trust your Captain" moment and I need to believe him when he says what he needs and expects of me and trust that it's really enough, but my self esteem has definitely taken a hit. I was hoping that maybe one of you ladies could help me figure out how to handle this change as gracefully as possible. I feel silly that I even have to ask, because it's obviously good news.

As an example, I have been designated to handle finances since we first moved in together, and he has explicitly expressed that he would like me to continue doing so. It was easy when I was budgeting money I was making, but it feels very "off" to me to start divvying up his money. We have lived on a tight budget for our whole relationship, so now that we can afford to "splurge" on some things I'm very hesitant to put together a budget, and he has no interest in helping me put one together. While I'm honored that he's trusting me to continue handling this task, the stakes somehow feel completely different now.

I am open to an Internet slap on the face or any suggestions or insight on how I can change my mindset and approach this change with confidence and grace. Thank you in advance :)
