Ladies, who are your female RPW role models?

You're going to think I'm crazy, but I like Jessica Fletcher (the character from Murder, She Wrote). She's always dressed well and conducts herself like a lady. She's a widow, but she had a long and devoted marriage. She has close friends, and she's not a gossip or a bore. She has hobbies (including writing), which keeps life interesting for her.

Most importantly, I love how she interacts with others. She is kind and generous. She's extremely analytical (solves all those murders), but she does it in graceful way (not like a "know-it-all."). She is humble and warm. I should like to be like her. Plus, if I can look as amazing as Angela Lansbury at her age, I'll be pleased!

I like Candace Cameron Bure and she turned me on to the whole RPW idea, even though she doesn't mention it specifically. She pretty much is, though!

Grace Kelly - strength, warmth, sensitivity, elegant, beautiful, developed an acting dream then gave it up for marriage and family. I really like Kitty Forman as well from That 70's show - she has a sense of humour, very nurturing, loving, the complete take carer of the house. She is loud and has a strong presence but her fundamentals are there- cheerful, joyful, motherly figure. Kitty and Red have a very long standing relationship while everyone else breaks up. I also am very impressed with Gabrielle Reece. She is an athlete, a model, a wife who has submitted and a mother. There's a really informative talk on Lewis Howes- School of greatness about how she manages it all and goes into detail about her relationship with Laird - a very 'Alpha male' and being his rock. I really enjoy her blog about the different ways she respects her husband and his desires for sex, his talents, his clothes, focusing the topic about him. I really love Ivanka Trump,

She's feminine & charming but very engaged and open. Her communication and pose during interviews is great! Despite reporters sometimes trying to get a "gotcha" moment but shes unflappable.

I also do love that she supports women being empowered to have a great career/ life and also embrace being female and not feel they have to copy the males.

Appearance is clean and impeccable and she holds her head up with pride.

Candace Cameron Bure and Ree Drummond, aka the Pioneer Woman

Candace put aside her career to be a mother and a supportive wife. She feel hard for her husband when he was basically nobody. Now that her husband's retired from hockey, he is the more at-home hands-on parent while her career flourishes. She has two boys and a girl (I have two brothers).

Ree ditched city living and law school for the ranch. I give her a little less credit than Candace, because she's not into health/fitness, and Candace is aging better as a result. However, she's got the focus on husband and kids. She homeschools her kids and doesn't really comment on the outside world - tough to do in the social networking era.

She grew up UMC on a golf course - also resonates with me - and basically didn't want the "easy way out". Her folks are divorced and it's clear she did not follow in their footsteps. Her husband is undoubtedly her partner and captain.

In fact, I recall one of those "lightbulb" RPW moments several years ago had to do with Drummond. I was a foodie and read her blog voraciously; her pulled pork and meatballs are still in my regular rotation.

I read a lot about her husband and family life. I found it a welcome respite from the typical leftist/modern stuff shoved down our throats: hate husband, work like a dog, get fat and blame others.

Anyways…I just tried to find the article and couldn't. It was NYTimes or one of their equivalents. Basically a "journalist" went to her home and stayed there for several days. They emerged victorious, saying it was all real - but! - the secret weapon was her husband being willing to look over blog posts before they were published, clearing the dishes, wrangling kids with her…..And, were it not for the women's movement, he'd have never done any of those things, so really her success was rooted in the left's hard work.

I was absolutely furious at the hack job's manifesto. From then on, I cast a wary eye towards media.

I actually love Samantha Stephens. She was gorgeous and could literally have or do anything she wanted and she CHOSE to be a devoted wife. She was extraordinarily powerful, but she LET Darrin lead. He was kind of a bore and he wasn't the best looking guy, but she loved him, because he was a loyal provider and was very good to her. She dealt with nosey neighbors, prying bosses, in-laws, and her own crazy mother with grace. She was brilliant.

Late to the party here, but I wanted to add a few I haven't seen on the thread. Some are fictional.

Gloria Pritchett from Modern Family - I love how strong she is but that she always defers to Jay in their relationship. She's extremely feminine in how she looks and acts. I also love that she dresses to accentuate her body, though some of her outfits can be a tad... revealing. And she's a stark contrast to Claire Dunphy, who I view as the opposite of an RPW.

Kate Middleton and Princess Di - going by their public images only since I don't know what goes on in their personal lives.

And, this one may seem obscure - but Ellen Griswold (Clark Griswold's wife from the National Lampoon movies). I remember watching Christmas Vacation when I was a kid and wanting to have her as a mother!
