I was reading [this] post on /r/MGTOW the other day which stipulated "women couldn't go their own way even if they want to". Funnily enough their is a /r/WGTOW subreddit, with about 100 subscribers. Seems like most of the posts are just MGTOW joking about how WGTOW is not a thing and never will be.
This subreddit seems quite fond of the statement "women are the gatekeepers of sex, men are the gatekeepers of commitment". Soas gatekeepers of commitment MGTOW are unwilling to commit beyond a short term relationship at the most, but some will have sex upon certain conditions. Short term relationship is the cutoff for commitment.
It would make sense then that a WGTOW as gatekeepers of sex would reject sex completely (or at least mostly), willing to have commitment upon certain conditions. I have to say that sounds a bit like the traditional view on pre-marital sex. Theoretically a WGTOW upper limit for sex (or should I say lowest limit?) would be marriage... if we are using the whole "gatekeeper of this or that" theory.
There is a phenomenon that I think fits this... somewhat. It's called "rinsing". You can see a bit about that in this video here. If women were committed to rinsing as a long term lifestyle/ reproductive strategy that could be a form of WGTOW I guess.
Another possibility is the obvious one: A woman can stop having sex and live alone and work for herself and be a nun. The extreme end of WGTOW would be the exact same as MGTOW, just for different motivations.
However, on the whole this is just some musings and I don't really see WGTOW becoming a thing in this day and age, if ever. Under the right social conditions it could be possible i.e. under androcracy (if that's even possible). But I think with human human biology the way it is, it's difficult to happen. And I think with society the way it is now, it would never happen.
Although an interesting point to think about is feminism and it's extremeties. Some of those radfems kind of WGTOWed back in the 70's. But they just replaced men with butch lesbians and kept traditional gender roles etc. I dunno if that's WGTOW.
Any thoughts?
Any WGTOW's out there!!!?
