It would be nice to flip gender roles for like 30 years or so. Men can start marrying up and being taken care of. Men can get chased and approached. Women can no longer cry. Ok, I have a few things to say on the sentiment of this post. I don’t care if I get downvoted to oblivion, but I like this sub and posts like this frustrate me as well as comments that usually follow along.

The march is a fundraiser to help fight the violence against women. Is that a bad thing? I think every sane person on this sub would agree with me that NO, it is not a bad thing to raise money to help prevent people from being attacked.

I bet everyone on this sub would also agree that there should be more awareness of violence against men, yes? That is part of the point of this community after all. So make one. No one is going to stop you from forming a fundraiser to help male victims of assault. You can support less violence against women and men at the same time.

I may be wrong in my assumption, but from the few comments and OPs title, everyone is relishing in playing the victim. It’s like when the Black Lives Matter movement came to the forefront every white supremacist said, “B-But, all lives matter! Not just black people!” Also similar to many viewpoints on the USA military, patriotism, and war. You either love the country and the troops and want a war or hate the country and hate the troops and don’t want war. You can’t love the country, respect troops, and not want to go to war and kill all those troops. There is daily conversation on this sub about how annoyingly stupid it is that feminists always play the victim. Then we all look each other in the eye and shake hands while laughing at the stupidity of r/Feminism . Then 2 seconds later we are all jerking our selves off to how we are really the victims of the feminist movement and we are much worse off than them.

I’m clearly boiling this down to simplifying issues, but this is ridiculous. Just because someone wants to raise funds for victims of abuse to females does not mean they want men to be abused. Just because someone wants less black people to die at the hands of police does not mean they want more white people to die at the hands of police.

If we want equality, we CAN NOT keep acting like everything is against us. We CAN NOT play this zero-sum game. We CAN NOT keep typing behind our computers about how lame it is no one is fundraising for male issues when we are unwilling to do it ourselves in any capacity. Volunteer at a men’s homeless shelter, show vulnerability to women and don’t be an ass when they act ‘manly’ towards you, talk to your friends or other men in your life about feelings and suicides (tough conversations like this can show someone that you’re listening at that his life is more valuable than once thought), work a ‘wimpy’ job and encourage women and girls to take ‘tough’ and ‘dangerous’ jobs, and take part in supporting the movement in this post’s image to “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” while supporting a group that does the same for men.

Now you may be thinking: “But women would never do the same for us!” - This may be true, but do you really want to sink down to that level? If no one did anything nice for anyone because they didn’t think they’d get it in return, we’d live in a worse off world than we do now. If you wan’t equality, act like it.

Or, “There are so many more resources available for women than for men!” - This is almost always true, but have you ever wondered why? It’s not some massive conspiracy where one day feminists from around the globe decided to massively and systematically prevent men’s groups from forming. Maybe it’s because of less men seeking help because they think they have to be macho. Maybe it’s because of ignorance: people just don’t know it’s a problem. Maybe it’s because no one has taken the initiative to start a resource or program for men. Maybe its all or a mixture of these and more reasons. I don’t have all the answers, but thinking of all angles would benefit both this sub and r/Feminism.

We have many great conversations on this sub. I’ve seen several great ideas on how to solve many complex issues here. I have also learned a lot that I didn’t know I didn’t know. There is no reason to give up reason unless you want to be among the reason why so many of the ‘worst’ feminists hate men.
