The barbaric practice of male genital mutilation is widespread. In years to come they will look back on this practice the same way we look back public executions.

If it happened to women in the west it would be banned, no question.

Edit: I think i should probably outline why I think its wrong. I don’t think there is any reason why it shouldn’t be treated the same as FGM.

I was circumcised when I was about 14 for medical reasons. I had a condition which meant my foreskin didn’t retract. The doctor put me down for a circumcision and didn’t really give any alternatives.

You have no idea how much feeling I have lost. If you were circumcised when you were young you wouldn’t know what you were missing out on, if you were never circumcised you wouldn’t know how much better you had it. It is pretty rare to have had experienced both but I have.

When you penis is covered by a layer of skin, its protects it and keeps it sensitive. Imagine if you stuck your tongue out all day and all night. It would go dry and desensitise. The same goes for then penis.

Masturbating pre-circumcision feels about as good as a blowjob does post-circumcision. That operation is probably my biggest regret.

The thing about it being cleaner is just wrong. The reason for that is that if you don’t wash you can build up smegma under your foreskin. Not a reason to remove it. If you don’t brush your teeth they will develop plague, that not a valid reason to remove a child’s teeth.

If you wash normally you will have no problems with infections.

The exact same arguments people use to defend circumcision can be applied to FGM

People don’t realise how damaging the repercussions are because they have only experienced one side. The few who experienced both have been shocked by the differences.
