I gotta vent about this. It was a Friday night in March 2017. I was sitting on my couch playing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 when I noticed two missed calls on my phone. It was this chick that ran with the crowd that I usually did when I wanted to blow some steam off or socialize. I called her back out of curiosity and she said that she was having a party two or three roads over and wanted me to come. Since I was bored I decided to go. I get there and there’s an alright crowd drinking and talking and we played beer pong while she fed me shots of vodka. When the night was winding down and everyone was going to bed she invited me to sleep with her. After a few minutes she started coming onto me and long story short, we had sex. She was asleep the next morning when I woke up but I had to freshen up and meet some friends to see a movie. I realized that I forgot my phone charger at the apartment so I went by there on my way to meet my friends to pick it up. The crowd from the night before was still there and I talked to her for a minute or two before leaving. Two days later a state trooper shows up at my house and says that she filed rape charges. I gave my statement and he got statements from the others that were there. It went to a grand jury and they found it to be a false accusation. After that she filed a protective order against me (while I had no contact with her) and I had to show up in court for that. I ended up invited to a party she was at a few months after that but didn’t even get out of the vehicle and stayed while the driver talked with one of his friends. Later that night I was sitting on the couch watching family guy when the police showed up and took me to jail for an IPO violation. I just got accepted into the state police academy when this happened and had to back out because of the charges. I eventually got the county attorney to make it a disorderly conduct and only had to pay a fine after six months of court and my night in jail. Since then I’ve became a recluse. Such a recluse that all of my friends have dispersed and don’t have anything to do with me because they think I’m disinterested. It’s been almost two years since the incident and I’m still afraid to approach a woman, message one, or go out anywhere out of pure anxiety. I also found out that I’m the third guy she has done this to. I’m getting better with it and actually being friendly with people but it’s still something that I think about every day of my life. She robbed me of a promising career, my confidence, my social presence, my social skills, money, and endless nights of sleep. There should be easier routes to identify and prosecute predators like her and to strip them of their psyche or at least jail time or costs that men endure on this end of it.
