Not true.

Corporate cuts go to corporations. Millions of Americans are employed by those corporations and they benefit individually (as can be seen by the bonuses and pay increases already being handed out by over 300 of those corporations). New jobs are also created by the additional investment (Apple, for example). New jobs create even more upward pressure on wages. Companies also increase dividend payouts, and their increased financial health raises their stock valuation (as you know, many middle class Americans are heavily invested in the stock market).

Hell, even Obama wanted a corporate rate cut because he wanted credit for the certain economic boom that would follow.

I’m far from wealthy (middle, middle class) yet I will benefit significantly from the cuts. I can’t be bitter that others benefit more than I will...it’s not helpful and changes nothing.

You don't benefit from the tax cuts. You get a couple of years of cuts, after which the massive debt that these cuts will accrue will force cuts in social services and safety nets that you yourself benefit from. The only people who benefit long-term are the rich.

corporate cuts go to corporations.

Corporations are not a social service designed to benefit workers. They serve the interests of their shareholders and well-placed corporate executives. Every last penny goes to them long before it goes to workers. American corporations are already sitting on massive piles of cash and none of that is going towards higher wages. Giving them tax cuts won't help.

Besides, if you really think that this tax cut was designed to help the middle class, ask yourself why they kept the carried interest loophole (for wealthy money managers) and ask yourself why, instead of getting rid of that, they got rid of our ability to deduct state taxes from our federal taxable income. Trump and his Republican friends basically said that if you make your money from a job, you will now get to have it taxed twice - first by your state and then by the feds. Trump and his Republican friends then said that if you're rich and you have a lot of investments, you get all these amazing loopholes so they don't have to pay their fair share of taxes and on top of it all of your corporate investments get a massive tax cut.

And you think this benefits you? I think you're being a rube.

Trump does not make tax law, Congress does, so lets give credit where it’s due.

Under Obama, the estate tax exemption went from $1M to $5M (yes, a 500% increase). This was done primarily due to farming and other privately owned small businesses. Children who inherited, for example, a farm worth $10M would (previously) incur a tax bill of about $4M. The only way for them to pay that (in many cases) is to sell all or part of the business. Seems a bit unfair to me, but it could be argued that it’s not unfair.

The new tax bill, using the same reasoning, takes the exemption to $11M until the year 2026. So this tax break only affects those who die in the next 8 years with estates valued at more than $5M. Additionally, the most an heir in that situation could benefit is roughly $2.4M (40% of $6M). This is a tiny number of people and does not amount to “trillions”. In 2016, for example, only 11,000 estate taxes were filed, amounting to about $20B in tax revenue. Many of those estates were valued at significantly more than $11M. If the entire estate tax went away for 8 years, it would cost the govt about $160B. This change will cost the govt far, far less.

So make them pay for them? What does that have to do with taking them out of the military? Also last I check healthcare was privatised so who's tax dollars are paying for the private insurance and why is that going on?

I had heard of the Central Park Five before. Thanks for that. What a gruesome story.

Under Obama we had, "a woman makes 77 cents to every dollar a man makes" and, "it is never okay to hit a woman". I feel like feminism kind of hit a peak during that era.

To me, Trump is a symptom, not a cause. I think that people saw through that virtue signaling bullshit, and were sick of the PC culture, and hence they voted for Trump. This gave us a decent litmus test for where the political mind of America was at the time. And it was blowing in our direction.

So Trump. I don't think he's necessarily good for our movement. But he sure isn't worse than Obama. And I highly, highly doubt that Hillary would have been any good for us either.

In Canada we have Trudeau. And he's certainly no good for the MRM. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
