If this keeps up "romp" is going to pick up a new meaning. "Rape" is an endangered term nowadays and "romp" seems poised to take it's place.
Maybe we should just cut to the chase and refer to all non consensual sexual encounters as "romps." I mean, Rape culture might not be real but "romp culture" sure seems to be.

That is one of the worst headlines of an article I have ever seen. Not just because WTF, call it what it is, but the grammar though. (And mine is a convoluted mess most times. But I'm not a new outlet.)
Emotional maturity seems to come way too late in the early years nowadays. For a sixteen year old, while driven by his genitals need to be inserted somewhere other than his hand, when you do dive into relationships, the emotions and feels can be really intense.
I would bet more often than not the boys in these scenarios are so confused and emotionally manipulated. These women are closer to their mothers age than they are their own. That's not consent.
Why do people act like a sixteen year old boy can be consenting without realizing the implications that can have on a developing mind?

I'm not going to justify the fact that she abused her position of power over a person who would be in position to see her as an authority figure b/c that is just disgusting.
But the full article states that the guy was 18 at the time of their "romp". It's legally not rape if he consented. Yes I know he was "special ed" but they didn't state what kind of disability he had and a lot of school districts in the USA will throw troubled kids into special ed programs just to keep them away from the general school population. (Proof my mother was a special needs teacher for 20 years and saw many intelligent children with learning disorders or emotional problems get shoved into her program).
That said the abuse of the power dynamic is horrendous and this woman should never be allowed to work with vulnerable groups of any kind. It's just not rape.

It doesn't require penetration. It can involve alcohol, or coercion, and involve standard PIV sex.

If you spend a decent time around here, you will run into men that were raped by women. Most don't talk about it. But it can and does happen, and it isn't fun, and it has a lot of stigma that women don't experience.
