As they become more mainstream, the more female-preferentral they have to be (because women control 80% of consumer spending).

Youtube really needs - credible - competion with less rules about what content is ok to be presented on the site (sure some crazies - read feminists/nazis/religious zealots etc. - will show up there as well, but censorship (no matter what you censor!) is not the way to go! Censorship is an instrument of dictatorships and any country that calls itself democratic/a democracy (note: I don't think most western countries are actually democratic because the people don't have much influence - it's all hate groups and corporations who control politics -.-) should not touch censorship with a ten foot pole (if anything goes right then the oppinions of Nazis etc. will not gain a big foothold anyway and if they do: Is that the fault of the Nazis or of the people opposing those crazies?)

ps: What was that quote? I hate what you are saying but I would die for your right to say it? I think that was it and I am for total free speech (no "hate speech" laws and similar BS!)

It's a smart move for them. They get the power of censorship without the backlash of removing videos, and with the excuse of being advertiser friendly. The only downside is of course, that it will obviously be used as a way to promote SJW and feminist type channels and videos because nobody else will be supported or popular enough to gain traction anywhere near as much.

The spin that most of the videos on this topic miss...I'll cover it in my next...is that YT is screwing the advertisers, too. How? They're sending ads to the wrong users. How many of you have seen the "race is on" ad for girls to run the UN and the US, etc? I'm exactly the wrong demographic for that ad, yet I've seen it dozens of times. One of the channels I subscribe to belongs to a guy who used to advertise on YT but doesn't anymore because his ads were not being targeted to his target audience. So, YT's response to advertiser complaints isn't just about feminists complaining, they're flailing around at convenient targets to cover up their own incompetence.

First off, they're not banned, just demonetized. Second, Youtube is a corporation. It's not a space for free speech. If it doesn't make them money, it's not interesting. Even though I don't agree with Youtube doing this, you can't make them do something, or even hold against them that they use the internet space they pay for in the way they want to. It's their server, they decide what's on it.
