This would actually cause an employer to consider hiring men over women which seems very counter productive for feminists.

So not all women would take this for period related illness, because not all women have troublesome periods. But all women have the option of taking paid leave amounting to ~15% of their working lives?

Do men get the option of a fully paid year off every 8.5 years to compensate for this disparity in rights and our ignored medical predicament that gives us shorter lives? Not everybody would take it, same as with the period law.

And are feminists really saying that a lot of women can only do a job as well as a pain-free man ~85% of the time? Because when you are in enough pain and turmoil to be off sick, you are not firing on all cylinders.

The double-standards are unbearable - you're a sexist pig if you've ever said any woman was a liability around the time of her period, but now this is being accounted for in legislation. Cake nom nom nom, where's my cake?

It's not for all women, only those that suffer a certain disease that makes periods distressful and it cant be abused because that disease has to be officially acknowledged by a doctor

I lived in Italy my holidays per year were as follows and were standard for many companies. Sate employees got even more holiday

I had 30 days paid annual holiday.

There were 16 days religious (bank holidays) every year.

So out of 250 working days I was on paid holiday for 46.

If a woman gets 3 days per month that will be another 36 days a year.

So she could be off 82 paid days per year!

No wonder the country is bankrupt.

In the end I think this will be a good thing. Employers will stop promoting women to critical, high paying positions. More opportunity for men.

Italy has one of the lowest rates of female participation in the workforce in Europe.

Big fucking surprise. Companies in Italy are already forced to give women paid maternity leave. Now the same companies will have to give each woman in their employ three extra paid days off per month. That works out to over an extra month of holidays per year. Why the fuck would any compnay in Italy by insane enough to employ women?

On one hand it's means less bitchiness in the office which means less drama, which is good for everyone.

On the other hand, it would be a disaster for women's careers to disappear that often from work, for which men will be blamed.

They ARE aware that menstruating is a woman's choice now, right? It's quite easy to prevent menstruation medically nowadays, and even if a woman chooses not to, there are many medications and topical treatments that make it tolerable or downright irrelevant to a woman. This is insanity.
