Slicing off functional parts of genital anatomy for no reason increases risk of a physical issue of one's genital anatomy, who'd have thunk it.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 89%. (I'm a bot)

Circumcised boys are 16-26 times more likely to develop urinary tract problems, shows new research.

Physicians are aware of the relationship between circumcision and narrowing of the urinary opening, says Thorup, but according to hospital records, meatal stenosis only affects 0.5 per cent of circumcised boys, whereas around 0.17 per cent of intact boys get the problem due to a skin disease known as BXO. That is a noticeably higher proportion of circumcised boys, but not in the order of 26 times more.

"Our findings, coupled with clinical evidence that between 5 and 20 per cent of circumcised boys will eventually develop meatus stenosis, document a need for a thorough assessment of the extent of urinary tract problems and other complications after non-therapeutic circumcision of boys," write the researchers in the article published in The Surgeon.

Are you circumcised? That would explain why you wouldn't like to hear evidence that is contrary to the lunatic propaganda that is spewed out by those trying desperately to convince themselves that what happened to their own penis was legitimate.

It wasn't. You were assaulted, and you had your most primal, private and sensitive body part deliberately butchered so that some OB/GYN could make a quick profit, and so that a few thousand dollars could change hands when your foreskin was used to create skin cell cultures, or sold to cosmetics companies for skin-testing purposes.

Sorry.

Are you uncircumcised? That would explain why you wouldn't like to hear evidence that is contrary to the lunatic propaganda that is spewed out by those trying desperately to convince themselves that what didn't happen to their own penis was legitimate.

It wasn't. You were ignored, and you had your most useless, dirty, funkey body part deliberately ignored so that some Nutjob could feel a little beter.

Sorry.

[–]nugymmer 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

It doesn't matter what my circumcision status is. It is irrelevant.

Are women in the USA circumcised? 99.9% of them aren't. Does that make their argument any less valid? No, it doesn't.

What if there was unbiased research that suggested cutting little girl's genitals was beneficial to their long-term health? I can imagine the controversy with applying the same scientific rationale to little girls as is currently applied to little boys.

If you support abortion rights, which basically enshrines the principle of bodily autonomy (at least for adults), then you should also support the right of every child to have their genitals left intact unless there is a very serious justification for doing otherwise - and there is NOT.

Giving adults the right to control what happens to their genitals, yet denying those same rights to a child is the worst form of hypocrisy.

Adults have the right to bodily autonomy. If I want my penis cut, I can give consent. Babies cannot consent, but they should have the final say as to what happens to their genitalia.

And female genital cutting is illegal. If scientific research suggested cutting little girls clitoral hoods would reduce their lifetime chances of various diseases, would you be able to justify doing the same thing to little girl's clitoral hoods?

I don't think you would. So you're a hypocrite.

It's not your penis, it's not your clitoris, it's not yours to cut. End of story.

Nah. I support vaccinations because there is no loss of sexual sensitivity involved, and children get injections all the time for various reasons.

Children, however, shouldn't have their most private and intimate body parts deliberately mutilated because of some fucked up cultural or social norm.

You guys need to wake up to yourselves.

If you think about it, fat people folds get all sweaty and smelly. Something staying in your pants for the majority of your life will probably do the same thing. I think that's why some choose circumcision

[–]nugymmer 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Then why aren't parents choosing circumcision for their daughters as well? Maybe it's because it's a federal crime - unfortunately it only covers the female gender and completely ignores the male gender, which is a shame.

Oh and what ever happened to personal hygiene?

Pretty sure my mom has mine in a trunk in her garage.

I'm just glad I don't remember the fucking event I've got no memory of ever having one so the way my penis is now feels normal to me. So I can't think of it as anything but legitimate.

[–]nugymmer 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It can be difficult to imagine it as malicious. The awareness of genital cutting and the stupidity of it, on the other hand, can be taken for granted. As more become aware of the potential harm and the very slight health "benefits" they will question the legitimacy. It is hard to blame any parent because they are only doing what is "normal" to them. But that "normal" will change.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

If you've spent any time studying evolution, it's obvious that human foreskin is a vestigial organ. Primitive man may have needed added protection for his genitals, but since the invention of clothes, this adaptation is no longer necessary.

[–]snarky- 15 points16 points17 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Clothes don't protect the glans, they do the exact opposite - rub on it, so that it hardens over and becomes desensitised.

[–]probably_a_squid 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The glans is an internal organ. It's not supposed to be uncovered for extended periods of time, much like the tongue. The foreskin is most certainly not a useless organ.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think what you're saying would make sense if humans were confined to an arid climate. Since they aren't, the foreskin is about as useful as the tailbone or the pancreas.

[–]probably_a_squid 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I honestly can't tell if you're trolling.

I'm not. Delete your account.

[–]nugymmer 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pancreas? You mean the appendix?

Neither the appendix or the foreskin are useless vestigial parts. Humans evolved them for a reason. Just because that reason isn't apparent to a circumcised man doesn't mean that it isn't useful.

It protects the glans and its sensitivity. It provides natural lubrication and mechanical and sensory function.

So, what you mean by this is that it's okay to mutilate baby boy's bodies if it increases their value as sex objects for women's benefit, right? So it would be okay to force labiaplasties on baby girls if that was what men preferred in bed, right?

[–]AlwaysABride -5 points-4 points-3 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Dude, if you think blowjobs are for the woman's benefit, you need to do a little research.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe you should go to the askwomem subreddit and ask their point of view instead of the askmen subreddit. Or maybe browse the porn side of Reddit? Or just ask google "do women enjoy performing oral sex on men?", that should help.

As a gay man~ [I know people hate that, but meh, it's relevant to the following opinion] I love giving head. It's my favorite sexual act, nothing turns me on more than giving head. I'd rather give head than receive anything.

Maybe if I still had foreskin I'd feel differently, but who knows. Foreskin is fun while giving head too.

Some women may not like it, some gay men may not like it... but there are indeed people who love to give head and get something out of it.

[–]rnflhastheworstmods 34 points35 points36 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My girlfriend didn't even know I was uncircumsized until I told her.

If you've got a boner and don't have an exorbitant amount of skin, pretty much looks the same.

And besides that, if you get there with a girl and she refuses because of that, you saved yourself from a straight up bitch so congrats.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, it's only flaccid that makes a difference or if you have excessive amounts of foreskin. And if you're having sex with a flaccid dick, then either you're doing it wrong, or you have ED.

Pull it back, and it's often times the same visually. Just without a scar, without it being dried out, more functional, more pleasurable... better in every way.

Man I wish I still had my foreskin. At least I'm gay so can enjoy it on my partner.

If you support abortion rights, then you should support the right of every man to choose what happens to their genitals too. And remember, mutilating female infant genitals was fairly popular during the 19th century in the USA, but it got banned under a federal law, and is now a serious crime. Imagine that.

Why are people so angry about circumcision in this sub lol

Oh, I don't know...

Thanks Daddy! "LOL":

Male circumcision causes terrible damage to the male penis, and psychological problems that can last a lifetime. It's no surprise circumcision for purely "medical" reasons in confined to the USA and a few other countries.

In western Europe there is now a growing movement to outlaw it as genital mutilation, on a par with FGM.

31: CONCLUSIONS: Circumcision was associated with frequent orgasm difficulties in Danish men and with a range of frequent sexual difficulties in women, notably orgasm difficulties, dyspareunia and a sense of incomplete sexual needs fulfilment.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21672947

32: CONCLUSION: There was a decrease in masturbatory pleasure and sexual enjoyment after circumcision, indicating that adult circumcision adversely affects sexual function in many men, possibly because of complications of the surgery and a loss of nerve endings.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17155977

33: CONCLUSIONS: The glans of the circumcised penis is less sensitive to fine touch than the glans of the uncircumcised penis. The transitional region from the external to the internal prepuce is the most sensitive region of the uncircumcised penis and more sensitive than the most sensitive region of the circumcised penis. Circumcision ablates the most sensitive parts of the penis.

a harmless religious... practice

Sure. "LOL" 😀

You can watch an infant boy being sexually fondled and masturbated here by a mohel. He's given a forced erection, so then it's easier for the child sex-abuser to mutilate his penis:

https://youtu.be/yaaw7wivUN4?t=3m12s

And here is the proof that this is all deliberate:

In the "Surgery of Ritual Circumcision", Dr. Snowman states, "When the penis of an infant is in a state of erection the operation is more easily performed and the dressing more efficiently applied."

A PDF of the book can be found here:

https://www.15square.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/ND000946.pdf

Here a mohel describes how the point of circumcision is to damage the boy's sexuality:

https://youtu.be/XN65C9tbLP0?t=10m34s

And here he is again, showing the torture and rape tools he will use:

https://youtu.be/XN65C9tbLP0?t=4s

And here's the mohel applying his penis-torture clamp and then amputating the boy's foreskin and mutilating his penis. Turn your volume up to hear those screams! LOL:

You can watch a full mutilation here in a child-sex-abuse hospital. The little boy will be raped by having a metal probe forced in-between his foreskin and the glans of the penis. The foreskin is adhered to the glans and birth, and does not separate until he is older. The rape-probe tears the two apart — rather like having a needle forced under your fingernail.

Then the boy will be tortured by having a clamp applied to his penis and his foreskin crushed. Then the child sex-abuser will mutilate his penis by amputating his foreskin.

This lucky little boy then gets a "Happy Ending" — the child sex-abuser sucks his bleeding penis, gives him herpes and then the kid gets brain damaged for life or, SPECIAL BONUS, dies.

And note that Jewish ritual sexual mutilation specifically prohibits any attempt to reduce the pain of the amputation. These guys, are hard-core Taliban/ISIS types who specifically state that the fundamental point, or "commandment" (mitzvah) of the mutilation is to cause physical pain to the infant victim:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brit_milah#Anesthetic

"Most prominent acharonim rule that the mitzvah of brit milah lies in the pain it causes, and anesthetic, sedation, or ointment should generally not be used. However, it is traditionally common to feed the infant a drop of wine or other sweet liquid to soothe him."

"Eliezer Waldenberg, Yechiel Yaakov Weinberg, Shmuel Wosner, Moshe Feinstein and others agree that the child should not be sedated, although pain relieving ointment may be used under certain conditions; Shmuel Wosner particularly asserts that the act ought to be painful, as per Psalms 44:23."

"The bodily pain caused to that member is the real purpose of circumcision."

— Moses Maimonides (1135-1204). One of the greatest Jewish sages.

This poll shows the vast majority of Jews say no anaesthetic should be used:

http://www.thejc.com/poll/should-a-mohel-use-anaesthetic

Even the UK Jewish Medical Association states that no anaesthetic must be used by the child-sex-abuser:

So pedophillia, fondling, masturbation, rape, penis torture, genital mutilation, oral sex, herpes infection, brain damage and death.

All in the name of "religion".

Nice.

It's just simply that men here don't like the idea of slicing off functional genital anatomy at birth for no reason.

I'm from UK, where circumcision isn't common, and I cannot understand how USA just mutilates most boys. It's kind of horrifying.

Slanting things to his benefit? How, exactly?

Here's the truth - an infant's penis DOES NOT belong to you or anyone else.

If it has no effect on anything, and doesn't change anything, then why are people still doing it?

For health benefits? My arse. They're doing it because they're conditioned to accept it as normal. In fact, it's as bad as child molestation, and should be punished in the same fashion. Jail time. People who cut little girls get jail time. But boys? Nah, they get looks of approval.

If someone spoke proudly of mutilating their son's dick it would take me great personal effort not to pick up a brick and cave his head in.

Just because it doesn't kill half of every recipient doesn't mean forced circumcision doesn't have significant problems. Like I don't get why this is so hard to understand. My cousin had too much skin removed when he was a baby and was permanently deformed. I noticed a significant drop in sensitivity in my late 20s. Just give men the right to choose...Jesus fucking Christ.
