Divulging one’s gender through an announcement of pronouns at best contradicts the reality that our gender may be ambiguous ...

To be fair to the writer, if you were someone who genuinely believes in this kind of gender fluidity then you can see how what she says there is basically consistent with that belief.

Except ... could she seriously not have worked this one out before she championed getting students to perform this weird cult-like ritual of announcing their fucking gender pronouns on the first day of class?

I mean, this is her:

She's supposed to be an expert in this stuff as well as an educator - could she seriously not have worked out the problems inherent in getting people to declare their gender in public like that?

At some colleges and universities, it’s common for students to introduce themselves, whether in class or in student group meetings, by name, followed by a string of pronouns. “I’m Lizzie; she/her/hers,” for example.

I am always battling against "friends" on Facebook over there being only 2 sexes.

It's a fact, I want to be lots of things in life but you could give me the title of astronaut, it does not mean I am.

The outright hatred & vicious personal attacks on me when I state my opinion in a respectful & dignified manner takes my Brest away.

It ensures I never take their views seriously & actively get a rise out of them, they deserve it & it is so easy to do.

I have sympathy for people who suffer with their sexual identity & most of the people who have been through it seem to be unphased by the whole topic.

It is these safe zone, university attending, white, middle class jigglypuffs that have never experienced actual adversity that spit the most venom.

Gendered pronouns and gendered nouns are very practical. They convey important information with very little effort. That's one thing I hate about the English language. If one talks about their cousin or friend or teacher, it doesn't necessarily become apparent whether they're talking about a man or a woman and this would be interesting to know to get a more complete picture. And when someone writes their cousin (who is male) has a "fiancé", am I to assume that the cousin is gay or that the person who wrote it just didn't get the difference between fiancé and fiancée? Statistically speaking it's much more likely that the person is just an idiot and the cousin is straight.

You appear to be confusing feminists with people trying to work out how our society should function around transexuals. While there may be an overlap that is two different groups.
