The "administrators" involved in the "hearing" should be fired summarily and immediately and barred from ever working in a position of power over any males ever again.

I hope John Doe now sues the living shit out of UCSD, receiving millions, and I hope the consequences of that lawsuit (presumably a Title IX suit) should include the total dismantling of this "hearing" process.

It's a sad day when a 'victory' is merely stopping an illegal court that should have never existed at all. Why colleges started doing this shit is beyond insane in the first place. It's like, "Oh gee, I'm a man, one less psychotic way for women to make my life a living Hell on Earth out of the other 9500 ways." And WHY are these psycho 'courts' only now finally being addressed? What took so long? Why weren't all these proceedings shut down the day they started in all colleges like they should have been? Is there something I'm missing here?

This an appalling case and all to common, how many cases like this did not make it to court? Presumably a settlement case or negotiation will occur later.

I would also add that this type of thing happens by stealth within apparently well structured procedures, and not only for sexual assault cases. I have witnessed it first hand. An appeal by the respondent can be an overwhelming task. The resulting social damage can be catastrophic.

false rape accusations exist and they are a weapon used by mentally ill women.

Men protect yourselves by at least avoiding contact with women who display even the slightest hint of mental illness.

I was hit with a false rape accusation after a breakup. There was zero consequence for the diagnosed bipolar woman who accused me.

I guess this is about as good a result as I've seen but..... it's very little indeed. No punishment for the college, no damages, all the kid got was the punishment overturned so he can now go back to that same college -- who the fuck would want to -- after the eight months the process took instead of the 15 months suspension the college demanded.

They could just charge him with the same thing all over again. And really the judge isn't saying he's innocent just that the process was so ridiculously fucked up that they have to redo it. All the feminists would have to do is tick a few boxes, cross a few Ts .... but why bother since even with this result they kicked the young man off campus for almost a year?

No penalty beyond maybe humiliation. This wont stop them do it again.

The DoE needs to hold up federal funds from schools with these kangaroo courts. The local non-university police need to handle such serious accusations.

What if Jane Roe had been a girl at another school, or not in school at all?

It's fairly safe to say that a school can't punish a non-student, so the OTHER school couldn't expel John Doe, but could Jane Roe have filed a complaint with John Doe's school?

Anyone have any insight?

Maybe that's the solution: only date/hook up with girls who go to other schools or who aren't in school at all

What net effect does this ruling even provide? The school was wrong? Big deal. Or was this part of a lawsuit for damages to his career prospects? That'd be something for sure!
