I ‘Walked Like a Man’ and Three Times As Many Women Ran into Me as Men

I'm starting to notice a trend here...Feminists create a fake outrage, use the word "man" as a prefix, and claim that it is caused by the patriarchy/male evil. Then, someone examines the claim and, if the "problem" even exists, finds out that women are actually the worse offenders...

In the process we have wasted precious seconds of our lives debunking another idiotic feminist theory. Yet there are a thousand more such idiotic theories coming our way, a seemingly endless list of complaints, each more trivial than the next, spewed forth by spoiled, mentally disturbed white women who for some reason have been given a media megaphone and significant power in government.

I'm starting to wonder whether it's even worthwhile trying to fight this beast. Perhaps it's best just to let it destroy the village, then rebuild...

I can blieve this. I live in a town full of walkers and bikers. When I walk down the sidewalk, women never move, even if they are 3 wide taking up the entire side walk. Guys do this too, but from my experience, no where near as much as women do.

I see dudes leave the sidewalk and walk on the grass to let anyone through, not just women, significantly more than I see them not move. I rarely feel like I see a female make space on public walk ways (this is the exact reason I tell everyone I hate the grocery store, the older women who hog the entire isle and you gotta just sit there and wait for them to let you through, or you come off as a dick (somehow...) asking them to make some room.

I personally don't think women do this on purpose, i think women may do this because they have it beat into their heads from birth that men should be the ones doing things just out of respect that she is a female. So I feel many women assume the man should and will move for them and they don't really consider moving them selves due to what young girls are taught when they are young

This line right here in my opinion is the most important line of this entire post. When you trot out fabricated statistics, myopic interpretations of data, and claims that are pulled out of nowhere people will begin to ignore you fairly quickly - or they will continue to push forth in their own echo chambers making things worse. 'Gender' is an important thing to understand in a multitude of contexts, for both men and women, and trotting out social "experiments" like the manslamming idiocy only makes things worse, not better.

I live on a busy street and notice this daily. Men know that they run the risk of getting into a physical altercation if they body check the wrong guy, so they generally yield a little bit, and the other guy does the same. Women, on the other hand, make no such assumption, so are constantly getting clipped by my hulking frame:)

It IS gendered though. I can't cite a study, but from experience, women tend to move out of the way less than men.

When I walk down the street I always see groups of women walking 3-4 abreast taking the entire sidewalk and they NEVER more out of the way. I usually have to take refuge behind a shop sign and stop and wait for them to pass because they seem to be the only object which they acknowledge will not make way for them.

I propose a simpler explanation: some people are jerks. This includes both men and women. But when you do the experiment just once, you're gonna get one group doing it more than the other depending on location, day of the week, and time of day.

I would bet good money that if this were to be repeated thousands of times in many locations that the figures would be pretty evenly 50/50 or within experimental error of that.

Good post-rude women grossly outnumber rude men on the street. Rare is the woman that holds the door open for me even when I'm carrying a heavy package. Rare is the woman who will turn sideways as I do when traveling through a narrow corridor. It's simple courtesy ladies. What is going on in their minds?

Sounds about right. I find it most noticeable when a group of people are walking three or four abreast. Men generally make an opening to let others through. Women, on the other hand, act as if everyone should deffer to them and step into the street if needed to get out of their way.
