There isn't at the base level.

We are highly social creatures, to the point that socializing is a basic need. Love, belonging, acceptance, self-esteem, all of these are needed to be a perfectly healthy individual.

People who don't get those, often develop social/mental issues. You often see this in other social creatures like dogs, cats, penguins, monkeys.

If you are 35 and have never had a partner, it is very likely you have developed a warped view of the world and need help.

What I find fascinating however is that this behavior is very close to that of drug addicts and the chronically homeless, as they are groups that are also shunned from society. What is interesting is that there are public programs to help these people as it is generally accepted fact that it "isn't their fault, it is mental illness and/or the fault of society", yet if you are socially awkward for whatever reason, it is the fault of the individual, and if they want to get better, they are viewed as entitled.

You can travel the world, but it is obviously more fulfilling to travel the world with a partner.

Biology, sense of romanticism, goal of creating a family, need of sex and companionship, internet and almost literally every movie, series, song or book selling you directly or subtly the idea of sex/romance, plus women trying to look attractive (which we can't really blame on them).

I am asking myself the same question.

I assume it's arrested development.

I was like that myself going through puberty up to the age of about 20. Then I stopped thinking about sex and I also stopped masturbating.

When I go through day to day life I almost never thing about sex. And yes, I am lean, muscular and have totally healthy hormones.

The simping in this thread just baffles me. Men are a sad,sad sight these days.

Well if course there's other things in life besides women l, but for a lot of us it's impossible to get into relationships so it tends to be a point of focus for us. I'm trying to focus on other things in my life and accept that a relationship is never going to happen, but it's hard for me to accept because I'm stubborn.

testosterone + social media jealousy + the general feeling society is coming apart and men fearing they never got to live a fun life.

The 3rd part of the equation is probably caused mostly by the 2nd part. Its crazy how if instagram, tiktok, onlyfans, youtube, twitter, facebook (2007 to like 2014 at least, now its kinda a zombie site) and of course the primary vessel to use them (smartphones) never came about how many more people would be stable and happy.

Imagine being a 20 something in the 80s or 90s, plenty of technology, but also people still socialized locally, and werent addicted to the internet

Eh, maybe by the late 90s people were starting to be addicted to the internet, but it was mostly just autists trying to spread rumors about the triforce being obtainable in ocarina or some dumb shit

society's inherent belief that men are only as good as the women they can get.

most men growing up are constantly asked if they have a girlfriend and are consistently compared to other men who are better looking with girlfriends. they learn that they'll only ever get external validation and affection from their girlfriends. whereas women are brought up being told how beautiful they are and whatnot so they already have the external validation, and they're shown that if they just exist a guy will eventually like them (which is true)
