I always video tape every drop off and pick up . My ex tried to get a DV charge on me for owning vanilla air fresheners. So I had no other options.

I would make sure that you have even pickup and dropoff responsibilities with her. I had trouble with my ex because I had both responsibilities during much of the year and she would use it to make it difficult for me. The lawyers missed that one. It was not a far distance but a few other unclear holes in our policy were exploited by her to make my relationship with my kid difficult and missed time for us.

Drop off halfway is a good idea for multiple reasons. Highly recommend.

Ideally it would be done at school so you don’t have to see ex at all. But if you have scheduling conflicts that make that impossible, a public place halfway is ideal.

Problems at dropoffs at your exes house or your house are commonplace. You’ll run into them eventually and just switch the location to halfway.

Can you make the change at school or daycare or a sporting event for the kids rather than at the house?

I was forced to use my family wizard by the courts. I'm on the 2 year ( going on the 3'rd) because of the details of the custody agreement. I'm not letting ANYTHING get by me. I know how women work. I grew up around 4 sisters, my best friend is a girl, I know how they think, how they operate. This is one reason my stbxw & I didn't get a long. I called her out on a lot of her bullshit long before she ever had a chance to do it. BTW they hate that. I got the holidays down, the drop off location, what happens if the weather doesn't permit me from making the drive. (I live in Colorado, so the roads get closed in the winter time). Everything down to the vacation days when he starts school. I'm sure his mom is going to find something to gripe about, it's in their nature. So, I'll just keep trying to stay one or two steps ahead of her till my boy is old enough to find out the truth on his own & then that'll open a whole new can of worms.

My ex-hoe and I don’t really have drop off. I pick up my son from school everything other Friday, he stays a week and then the ex picks him up every other Friday. I never see the hoe and it’s so much better.

Try to arrange so transitions can be done independently when possible. My parenting plan when the kids were transitioning more often was based on transition occurred at the end of the school day so I would just pick them up at school. Eventually moved to a 7/7 so much fewer transitions. I’m actual going to buy a dash cam because any interaction with my ex makes me extremely nervous due to a false DV attempt a few years ago. If she begins creating drama insist transitions occur at a police station parking lot halfway. Some people use drama like oxygen to survive so if it becomes a problem the best thing to do is establish a boundary

I can also recommend using a police station as a drop off/pick up. It deters unwanted actions
