Hi everyone this is my first post.

We are in the beginning stages of starting our divorce and I was looking for some pointers in handling all the financial obligations that we will now share once everything is final.

So my(43m) and stbxw(43f) have been married a little over 11 years but have been a couple since our early 20's. We have 2 beautiful kids 9 and 7. Since our kids were born I have been the sole provider for the family and live in PA. We have just started the divorce process, she was just served a custody agreement in which I am asking for 50/50 custody of the kids with her having them Monday/Tuesday, I will have them Wednesday/Thursday, and we will alternate every other weekend. Currently we are still living in the same house and I initiated the divorce. My stbxw is getting ready to start a new job and will make considerably less than what I do since she has been out of work for 10+ years and has a hard time handling finances.

So going forward I am looking for advice on how to deal with when she asks for more money or payments for things she buys for the kids. I know she has a hard time of saying no to buying them something at the store when and where ever they go. Will I be responsible split the cost for these kinds of purchases? Should I ask for a receipt? I want to set fair, reasonable, and consistent boundaries from the start so any suggestions would help.

thanks
